What Do You Do When People Throw Bricks?

Let’s face it. We all have bricks thrown at us at some point in our lives. We’ve had an idea that we were really excited about. We told all our friends and family, only to have them tell us how ridiculous we were.

No matter how long you have been doing something, or how great the idea, there is always someone there to throw bricks. Proving yourself over and over can be discouraging after a while, In fact, you might be tempted to start doubting yourself.

When you know that you are right or you know that you are really good at something and can do exactly what you say, you cannot let anyone convince you otherwise. No matter how bad things look, no matter how much experience someone else has, you cannot let them get to you.

Sooner or later (sometime much later), you will find a place where you belong. Where your ideas are valued and where people are willing to give you the chance to show what you can do.

The road may be quite long. It may take weeks, months, or, even more likely years to find where you belong. If you give up the fight, you will never find your home.

The thing about continuing to search is that there are always new companies coming along. You never know when you will find a new company that could be the home you are looking for.

The main thing is to not lose your focus and to keep believing in what you know to be true about yourself. If you have developed skills in certain areas, keep working on those skills. If you have an area of expertise, be sure you are keeping up with the latest and greatest.

Some of the greatest reward in business, particularly in multilevel/network marketing is the opportunity to use your skills to accomplish something you could not do on your own. If the right opportunity hasn’t come along, don’t give up. Keep looking. The next company may just be the one you have been waiting for.

A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him or her.  David Brickley
