What do you reflect?

Read More: Positive Thinking

How do you see yourself? Do you think of yourself as attractive, intelligent, confident, and creative? Or do you see yourself as old, worn out, and boring?

How you see yourself is directly reflected outward. How you see yourself is how others see you and other will respond to you accordingly.

There are a lot of reasons that people chose to see themselves in a less than flattering way. Things that have happened in their lives, constant contact with negative people, or the inability to forget about past mistakes all contribute to a less than positive inner attitude resulting.

By continuing to constant reinforce this negative attitude about themselves internally, people sometimes bring less than positive results into their lives. People around them respond to the negative view they have of themselves and respond accordingly.

For example, if you are looking to promote someone are you going to promote the person that always has a good attitude, never seems tired, and is always thinking of ways to get things done? Or are you going to promote the person that drags in everyday, is always complaining that they are too busy, and rarely has anything positive to say about much of anything?

Some people may not even realize that they are portraying this negative attitude, but they probably know what they think of themselves. Only you can change how you think about yourself (or anything else for that matter).

How do you change that negative inner attitude? It isn’t easy. For some people it means changing a lifetime of how they have thought about themselves. Like any change it requires time and commitment.

Start in the morning when you look in the mirror. Sure, maybe you aren’t as young as you used to be and maybe there are a few more gray hairs, but by saying you are old, you will feel old and act old. Be glad that you are here one more day and have the opportunity to get older!

Next, do your best to control the thoughts that come into your mind. Thoughts of things that have gone wrong, or where you might be if you hadn’t made a particular decision are not going to change your current situation.

Beating yourself up about the past won’t change a thing and can only reinforce the negative attitude about your life. That doesn’t mean you can’t learn from your mistakes, but don’t let the past interfere with today.

Negative thoughts about yourself will only bring negative actions into your life. Only you can control your thoughts and reflect the positive, confident, intelligent person you are!

God didn't make a mistake when He made you. You need to see yourself as God sees you. Joel Osteen

Changing your inner Negative Atttitude isn't easy or is it??

Doc, Great article. I use the Gestault Theory Concept for "positivity". Repeat, repeat, repeat positivity in every aspect of your life and eventually your subconscious mind will get dominated with positive thinking which in turn will change your behavior. Thanks for the value

100% Agree

Thank you for the post! You are SO correct. I would be absolutely shocked if this is read by any negative person and it doesn't initiate the process to change their frame of mind.
Again, thank you.
