Yes We Can!
Yes We Can!
It worked for Barack Obama, and it can work for us, too...
Yesterday was FULL.
I started my day with Young Entrepreneurs in Tucson who are ready to step up and be Leaders in the Business World.
The energy was High!
Things have changED in business. Most people like to think they are changING, but doing business as we knew it has changED.
Business 2.0 is NOW.
I ended my day with Tucson Business Owners who have a desire to be Socialpreneurs.
According to Wikipedia, a social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change.
Our friend, Michael Tucker, is really leading the way on this and he’s doing a 5-week Seminar here in Tucson.
I believe he has 5 seats left and the classes start January 20th.
Derek and I will be there -- join us http://mrmichaeltucker.com/Socialentrepreneurforum/index.php/socialpreneur-leadership-course/
The interesting part was in-between these two BIG events, where the Players showed up and the Leaders spoke up, I got an e-mail from someone in our Social Media Subscription.
We teach people how to use Facebook, etc. to market their business, increase their influence and create a presence.
Anyway, this person said in his e-mail, “I can’t do this.”
Now, I’m dedicating a day of my 21 Day Leadership Training to those words, “I Can’t."
But for now, I just want you to remember that while everyday people were meeting all over our city (and beyond) talking about, planning and doing BIG, BIG things, this man decided he couldn’t learn how to use Facebook.
It hit me like a ton of bricks…
When we use those words, we take power away from OURSELVES.
When small things drive us to declare we can’t, we are also declaring that we can’t accomplish great things.
For him it was learning something new.
What is it for you?
What have YOU told yourself you can’t do?
What have others told you can’t be done?
I woke up thinking about President Obama and the words that he made his mantra…YES WE CAN!
I'm guessing he had thousands of “run-ins” with naysayers and negative nillies.
I'm guessing he had heard doubt and negativity many times.
Not many people thought we'd ever see the day when the U.S. had a black president.
Regardless of how you feel about him and what he's done as president, he changed what was possible, and he changed History by saying 3 simple words...YES WE CAN!
Bury the words, "I can't," forever.
If you don’t want to do something, fine.
But don’t ever, ever say you can’t because I know...
YOU CAN!
