If relationships are the hallmark of a mature person meaningful relationships are the hallmark of a mature business. If you are struggling to get your business to the next level you may want to evaluate the depth of the relationships you have developed with your customers or clients.
While building meaningful relationships takes time, it doesn’t take much! The small and simple things can make all the difference in your relationships with your customers. Here are some quick ideas of things you can do TODAY to take your relationships and your business to the next level:
• Call a customer just to see what you can do for them
• Write a handwritten note to a customer who may have achieved something or been recognized
• Have your staff call with a “thanks for your business” message
• Take a customer to lunch
• Ask a customer for advice on a service or product issue
• Send an unexpected bonus with their order
• Send a handwritten thank you for their payment
• Hold regular listening sessions with your customers
• Celebrate your customers success
You get the idea. None of these small and simple gestures should cost you much in either money or time. But the message they send and the relationship they will help to forge will be priceless.
Challenge yourself, and your staff to discover new ways to deepen relationships with your customers or clients. As these relationships mature, so will your business.
