Setting Goals According to Bosscash77
The one thing that has been puzzling and of many different opinions is what is a goal, why do I need it and how do I set one. Many of your top authors have written on this subject. So here is a small summary formed from years of reading and practicing the principles. 1. What is a Goal - The purpose toward which an endeavor is directed; an objective or intention. 2. So we could say that Goal Setting is the setting of actions to reach a set intention or objective. Meaning a golfer intention is to sink a put. A soccer player intention is to shoot the ball pass the goal keeper into the net. This means that we as internet marketers set out with a goal to earn a specific amount of money with in a certain period of time. 3. Actions needed in Goal setting. a. Positive incentives such as a person who chooses to diet to lose 20 pounds. His incentive is the picture of how he will look after he loses the weight. b. Independence Incentive – the opportunity of working alone c. Achievement incentive – a strong sense of achievement and success d. The Power incentive – a feeling of self control and not being dominated by others e. The Affiliation Incentive – Knowing that you have a group behind you such as a member of AA – Alcoholic Anonymous A particular incentive will direct a person's immediate behavior towards a particular goal only if it is the strongest of all competing incentives. Sport psychologists generally agree that the achievement incentive is often the greatest driving force for competitive athletes. Take a sports person training for The Iron Man competition, his strong sense of achievement take him through months of tough long training for one day. With the only intention in mind is to finish in the best time humanly possible Personal Goal Setting – setting and achieving life goals with the mind. Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn this vision of the future into reality. ... How to set a Goal 1. The first thing that is needed is the intent or the vision which we call a goal. 2. Next is the incentive or reward for achieving the goal. 3. Actions necessary to accomplish that goal a. Time frame to accomplish the goal. This is more complicated because the long term goal has to be divided up into short goals. Example: person wants diet to lose 40 lbs on 5 months broken down to 2 lbs per week for 20 weeks. b. Small rewards or incentives upon achieve each short term goal. Example: if he loses 2 lbs in 6days he gets o eat something he likes on the 7th day c. Discipline is strong part of goal setting Example: Dieter has to stick to a certain calorie in take every day to achieve his weight loss in a certain period of time. You could use the same example of the dieter in earning a certain amount of money in a certain period of time. The same principles apply.
