In the movie "Pay It Forward" teacher Mr. Simonet wrote on the blackboard on the first day of school."Think of an idea to change our world and put it into ACTION," That's a tall order, thinks Mr. Simonet's surly seventh-graders…all except saintly Trevor. He comes up with a big-hearted plan that requires an "extreme act of faith in the goodness of people." Or perhaps, as sourpuss Mr. Simonet suggests, a Utopian society.

 

This movie has a very valuable lessen in it. "Paying It Forward" If you can't pay someone back, then pay them forward. It means the recipient of a favor does a favor for a third party rather than paying the favor back. Latch onto this idea for this is the secret to success and fulfillment in any business and life!

I'm sharing this with you today because 'Giving Back' is very dear to my heart and it is part of the passion that drives my business and life to serve others and contribute to making a difference in this world and to those that come into my life! From this experience I have experienced such joy and satisfaction.

 

You know, being in this industry we have daily opportunities to exercise this principle, doing it without an agenda, just merely help because a need has been identified and you can do something about it.

 

Give Back What You Got....Once you acquire the knowledge & skills you need to put your plan into action and your success begins to transform your business, it’s beneficial for you to Pay It Forward and serve others who have less knowledge and experience than you have.

I watched this in action years ago

My then 16 year old son was on his way to Europe. One of the guys I worked with handed him $100 so he could go and see just one more thing. Turns out a gentleman had done something similar for him years before. Now my son who's now 32 has turned around and done the same for a young kid he knew.
Amazing how far one simple gift can go and how it is never forgotten.

Love The Idea

Another Small Step for Mankind

Nicely articulated article. I've had this type of help in my live. I've also helped others without an agenda and I've always been amazed by the people or persons reaction. Just the look on their face was sufficient payment. Paying it forward has to come from the heart. Thanks for the reminder, sometimes we forget how it truly feels to help someone.

When we give out in kindness

When we give out in kindness we touch someone's life and this inspires them to do the same. I have seen this happen many times and it gives the giver a sense of happiness to know that he/her has made a difference. Love the message, will watch the movie.

Great way to live

I've started to pay it forward more and more by becoming a Go-Giver and have seen so much difference in my business/personal life. The more we give up front and give without expecting a return gift, the more we end up receiving... I guess it's true that we can't OUT GIVE the Universe.

This concept of "pay it forward" has been a concept that has very strongly resonated with me. I could not stop thinking about it after seeing it the first time. Once I internalized the concept I have tried to live that way every day. Either in business or personal it really doesn't matter.
