The health of your wallet = your general health
So you might be thinking What is this guy talking about? What does my finances have anything to do with my health? Well more than you think actually.
There is a lot of undue stress put on all internal systems Autonomic Nervous System (aka ANS), Lymphatic System, Immune System, Adrenal System, and Reproductive System just to name a few other than the constant headache of if and when my bills are going to get paid and from where? Simply because we love to buy that new shiny useless widget that we’re going to use for 3 weeks and then it’s going to start collecting dust.
Now before we go any further I have a confession to make: I am one of those guys that is going to buy that useless, shiny widget and rack up the credit, and bang my head on the wall at the end of the month thinking to myself what in H. E. double hockey sticks was I thinking! And that’s not going to change.
So what’s got to happen?
Well one of two things;
I go into the poor house (not planning on it), or
Go out and make my living doing what I do best
Now that we got that confession out of the way, back to the post.
If your like me (self employed, new to your business, dipping into your savings to make ends meet, looking for “your little break”, and very little idea on how to let people know that you are in business) then you are probably a little down on your luck, might have gotten over a cold, or even a bit depressed (month end gloom: bills, no not the Football team).
You might be asking yourself OK where are you going with this?
OK check this out here are some tips that you can implement (that I find useful) so you limit the mental stress of the month end blues:
Remember to always pay yourself first. Even if your not in business for yourself we work for a reward Work (Job) = Reward (pay). Try to allocate something (even if it’s a dollar) for yourself. It’s not how much you give yourself , it’s the fact that you gave yourself something.
Try to spread out your bills. If you have all your bills coming out on one day or month end it takes a huge toll on your pocket, instead split them in two half your bills come out mid month, and the other half come out month end. If you get paid weekly, then spread them out by the week it takes a bit of the strain off the wallet.
Educate yourself. The number one way to manage your dollar is to learn about the HOW. If your in business for yourself, or looking to get another revenue stream this is key among all of them. If you understand how to get money then it becomes easier to manage and stabilize your pocket. There are thousands of marketing tools out there, but I personally feel that these two hit the nail on the head on getting people into your door and cash in your pocket without looking like something your not (IE a personal trainer looking like a used car salesman), and last but not least
Always remember there is someone else in this world that is worse off than you. OK this sounds really bad but it’s true. There are people out there that have nothing, that are starving, have no place to sleep and here I am worrying about my credit?! If your like me and you want to help these people, understand that you have to help yourself first. You have to fix you before you can fix someone else.
I am certain that if you try these guides that you are going to be able to enjoy a happy and successful life to its fullest. I mean we all have goals and dreams all you have to do is act on them, have faith, and manage your pocket and watch your stress levels turn down a couple of notches.
