Life Application of Think & Grow Rich, Chapter 12

 

This chapter is one of my favorites because it explains the mystery of the Subconscious Mind.

The Subconscious Mind is the connecting link between the finite mind of man & God. It's the part of our minds wherein our thoughts are translated into prayer.

What is fascinating is that the Subconscious Mind doesn’t know if something is real or simply imagined. Since our minds think in pictures, we can create visual images (visualizations) of what we desire…and our Subconscious Mind thinks it is already true!

The key ingredient that activates the Subconscious Mind is EMOTION.  When that thought or desire is charged with Emotion, it becomes magnetized. Playing with magnets in Science Class was fun, but when you consider that you can magnetize your thoughts or desires with emotions to get what you want... This is a life-changer!

Since it is the Emotions that takes what is passive and supercharges it into action, it’s crucial to pick the right Emotion   Like attracts like, so if you want Positive outcomes, you must have Positive Emotions.

True confession-- Yesterday there was a situation in my life that made me angry. Not just a little irritated—but really angry. You see, I’m sometimes guilty of keeping things bottled up instead of dealing with them. (Am I the only one who does this?)  Even as I was expressing my frustration, I knew I had to shift immediately to a positive place.  And I did.

Yes, I took a step backward with allowing a negative thought. And yes, I shifted quicker than I would have to a positive place prior to beginning my journey in Personal Development. The learning here for me is to NOT store up negative emotions that can come forth unexpectedly.

I commit to surrendering to this incredible experience of LIVING in Positive emotions. I choose to focus my mind on "whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." (Phil 4:8) 

This is what will move me forward in my quest for freedom.

Don't allow the negative thought's to make it past our guard as soon as they try to creep in shut them down immediatly.
Whenever in doubt remember the Stop It video with Bob Newhart. :)

No, Margi, you aren't the only one who "bottles up" feelings. I do it because I fear (false evidence appearing real) confrontation. The fear doesn't help me or anyone else - but that's another chapter, isn't it.

Hi Margi, looks like we're on the same track here. :-)
Loved reading your article. The subconsious mind is such a powerful tool.
One thing you shouldn't forget is that it is our thoughts that lead to our feelings and emotions, which lead us to our actions. Our actions again lead to certain results.
If we don't like our results, we have to change our thoughs and emontions.
