Top Advice For Entrepreneurs Schedule Your Day In Advance

It’s the small simple habits that when combined create a change in your life. The top advice for entrepreneurs, a mentor told me was,

“Schedule your day in advance.”

This was one of the best pieces of advice we got, as new entrepreneurs that helped us become successful entrepreneurs.

To be honest we really didn’t appreciate its importance.

It’s funny how so many times we don’t appreciate the simple things and yet sometimes they can be the ones that bring us the greatest reward. Like most people starting a new habit we were inconsistent at writing out our, “to do,” list or “intentions” list when we first started.

Big mistake.

This meant we were starting our day without complete clarity. As successful entrepreneurs we are constantly trying to get the most out of each and every day. This means starting every day with a crystal clear clarity.

The one thing that has made the biggest difference for us was the simplest, writing out the top 3-5 things we want to get done the next day.

Because this advice is so simple it can be overlooked and thought of as, “no big deal.”  But writing out your list the night before helps you start the next day with complete focus on your top tasks.

When you go to sleep with your intentions for the next day on your mind your brain will actually work on the problems while you sleep. Even though your not aware of it your mind does work while you’re sleeping. It’s a great thing!

Here is our advice for entrepreneurs, easy as it is, this simple habit over time made a big difference in our success.

Plan out your day each night before you go to bed. Write out 3-5 things that you want to accomplish the next day. Start with Your highest priority, moneymaking tasks, at the top of the list.

Put a time line to your list. In other words when you write out your intentions for the next day have a start time and a stop time assigned to them. Include breaks in your schedule and keep a timer next to your computer, to keep yourself on track.

Schedule your time in blocks between 15 and 50 minutes. No block being longer then 50 minutes. Get up and move around between each time block, for 10 to 15 minutes.

First thing in the morning visualize yourself going through each step of your day accomplishing your goals.

If something does not get completed,  just put it on the list for the next day.

This simple advice for entrepreneurs is really a basic skill that helps you to start each day with clarity. Consider getting a journal just for your goals and intentions that you can use to keep track of your goals and look back on and see your progress.
