Personal Email from Mike Dillard … I walked away!
Even the strong get weak at times – it’s just life. It’s what you do with your down time that makes up the difference though.
Mike emailed me the other day checking in to see how things were going for me. I haven’t been on BetterNetworker.com (and/or MagneticSponsoring.com) for a while now.
I’ve been busy.
Busy with what you say? Ummmm, nothing that will be moving me forward in the business that’s for sure!
Ok, let me get the cat out of the bag for a moment here to catch you up. This will be a short and fast version so pay attention.
For almost a year I pushed hard to learn and implement what I’m learning from Mike and his team and even got involved in an MLM business a few months ago. In the first month I enrolled five people into the business, right out of the starting gate.
During this time I was outsourcing myself to help someone else in their business too.
On top of all of this I was working a day job (thankfully from home) so I could pay for online advertising and home bills.
I was also coaching others during this time in the MLM I’m with.
Then one day – I was tired and burnt out.
I walked away for a short time. I didn’t plan on doing this for good. Don’t get me wrong! This is in my blood to make it with the MLM I’m with then move past that into my own money making venture. Yet I did walk for a while to rest up.
See what I did wrong? I spread myself way to thin and burnt out like a dim witted light bulb. I became no good to others because I was no good for myself.
Working with no energy will kill everything.
The good news is it can be resurrected!
Just a few days ago I received a personal email from Mike. Essentially like I said just checking in because he noticed I’ve not been around.
A brief background on what I think about Mike Dillard.
He’s a distant mentor in my mind. He’s the only person who created a product that made sense to me and that fit with what I desired to achieve. He allowed his personal time for me early on.
In short I admire Mike and what he’s doing for everyone. I see the value and did just as soon as I opened the first page of Magnetic Sponsoring course.
His team and instructors on the old site stepped up when they saw someone who had what it took … they did this expecting nothing in return.
So I admire Mike and his entire team for all of their efforts. I think it’s also very cool they are making a living at “truly” helping others.
I’ve never minded shooting kudos or even money their way because of the value I’ve gotten from the courses and them personally.
Back to the email Mike tossed me.
It arrived at one of my most “hair pulling” moment! LOL
I was lacking motivation big time and was trying to fight through that to become creative again. At the time the email came in I was just sitting there brainstorming on where to go next. I was drawing up many blanks.
About to give up for the day and it was only 9am my time! LOL
Well the “boost” arrived in email from Mike.
He didn’t say much and it was just checking in, but it was enough to get me back.
I’m not saying you should rely on others to boost you up or even take notice to you. It’s all within yourself to do what you have to do. Yet even the strong get weak. Sometimes I think the strongest fall the hardest when they do.
For me, and to have Mike come to me at his own accord was a nice gesture and one that I appreciated.
So I’m back early than what I might have been just because of a few sentences from a distant mentor.
Thanks Mike!
My point to this article is to keep your eye on the horizon. No matter what challenges come your way – and many will – is to remember there is an outcome. It’s your choice what that conclusion is going to be.
My other point is when someone comes to you – takes notice to your absence or even props you for great work, you can’t use it to sustain motivation, but the boost is something you should take full advantage of.
Go boost someone in your downline today!

Nice one. Everyone need to
Nice one.
Everyone need to have to find a way to motivate themselve sometimes. There is no way that we can maintain a high level of energy and entheastic all the time.
For me, I need to go out to events and seminars to get charge up when I am down.

Thank you and whatever works for you!
I agree - it's important to surround yourself with others of like mind. It works for me as well!
Thanks for the comment. :)

Thanks Lisa! This is a "strange" coincidence...
First, thanks for taking the time to share from your vulnerable side - everyone can relate but not everyone will talk about it. I especially am hit for the second time this early morning how important encouragement and appreciation are to people. We all want to be "tough" and "all together" because we're leaders, right? When we understand how energized we get when we are encouraged the light goes on that we should want our entire teams to feel this way too! I'd love to add you to my network (if I can figure out how!), and continue to read your work. Thanks for contributing!
:)
Thank you Lisa, and good too see you back! :)
Mike
Glad to have you back Lisa.
Glad to have you back Lisa. :)
Right on Lisa!
Now to have the courage to TURN OFF THE OLYMPICS!

Thanks guys for the comments
Thanks guys for the comments and I'm glad to be back. Just one of those things that we all go through. My promise to myself is to keep a steady pace and stop trying to do it all at once! LOL
Steve - got the friend invite so you did good! I look forward to knowing you too.
Take care and have a great weekend!

Hi Lisa
Hi Lisa,
After learning from Bob Proctor over a year now and teaching the "Universal Laws" . What got me about your story was right here.
I was lacking motivation big time and was trying to fight through
that to become creative again.
At the time the email came in I was just sitting there brainstorming
on where to go next. I was drawing up many blanks. About to give up
for the day and it was only 9am my time! LOL Well the “boost” arrived in
email from Mike.
Some might say coincidence but that is the "Law Of Attraction" at work, though you were struggling you held the thought of getting around, over or through the obstacle you faced and the natural laws say for every problem there is and answer for every question there is an answer. Then Mike Calls, sounds pretty text book to me, and a great story as well.
Pay It Forward Lisa that will be the end to this awesome story.
Comments....
I have only been on Betternetworker a few days, but all this information I am reading is GREAT! I feel that this is the best place to LEARN and GIVE as many of these posts state. After learning more and giving more, only then can a person be SUCCESSFUL.
Keep all the posts coming and soon I'll be able to "wow" you guys with some of my own. lol
Thank you Sam, Ray and
Thank you Sam, Ray and Ferny! :)
Ray - I do believe in the law of attraction and that's why I don't give up, even if I'm sitting there going bald! LOL The law of attraction is Universal, all around and something we should all be engaged in for sure. Thank you for your comment on that.
Sam - thank you as well and yes, BN is an awesome avenue for you and everyone here. I look forward to reading your content too! :)
Ferny - great advice about emailing the group. ;) I'll do that because we've had a couple new comments.
Take care all and keep the participation coming. That's how we learn and network.

anyway great post

Patrick
Thumbs up!
I had to walk away from MLM in the past myself. Finding Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg gave me the courage that was already inside me to take that next step. My team is awesome too! Every morning I can be sure to have an email from my upline that is inspiring and motivational. It's all about your attitude. Think positively and positive things will happen for you. Thanks for the reflection, Lisa.

Get me a man and a sampan--and a computer and phone
Ok, so you pulled me in with a great headline and you need a rest. Do not get sucked up into the funnel yourself. Get away, there is nothing wrong with that Lisa. I look forward to hearing how you went to a getaway with Anthony Boudain (never mind he's my dream so hands off) and sat on a sampam in nowhere --and then a phone and text message appeared out of the tranquility pool. Can anybody say Twitter? lol.
