Put Yourself Down
"It's hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head." -Sally Kempton
Miserable prople put themselves down.
If you extend a hand to them, they return it with a backhand.
If you pay them a compliment, they give you a refund!
They have a "no, I not!" for every "yes, you are"
It's exhausting to be around them. Everythime they put themsleves down, you try to lift them up, and the weight becomes too much to bear! Their attitude is not humility, it's humiliating.
Happy people know their shortcomings, but they don't sell themselves short. They believe their souls are precious, and when the world weighs them down, they let the Lord lift them up.

I just know you were talking about me... LOL
OK, not really. Just being a bit fecicious.
You make a great point and I've run into this, kind of, just recently with some people from a west African nation, that I am trying to help. They were focusing on how bad and hopeless everything seemed for their situation and I told them a few things that, thank goodness, got them to "change their mind" and see the positive and abundance side of their world.
You just inspired me with a full story about a very closely related subject. Stay tuned! lol

Man on a Roof Top
Reminds me of the story about the man on a roof top of his house in the middle of a flood. Refused all sorts of offers of help, because the Lord would provide. After he drowned he asked, Lord, why didn't you save me? He showed him all the people he sent to rescue him which he refused. Sometimes we need to stop looking around and see the helping hand right in front of our face, stop looking for miracles. They are all around us.

Brings out the true meaning of selfpitty. One must belive in himself to acheive the success they are searching for in life. WIthout belife in you, you are just doomed to be what you are and always will be.
The war for your mind
As you know we become what we tell ourselves we are. It is just as easy to tell ones self that we are good and capable and deserve to achieve. All it takes is a little will power to illuminate negative content from reaching the subconscious or transmuting negativism to positive suggestion.
