Quotes 'From Here to Having it All in Network Marketing' by Ken Dunn
Hi all. As a 'newbie' to this forum and to the industry, I'm gathering and reading as much information as possible. I certainly don't have enough knowledge or insight to offer at this point, but I did receive this e-mail from the President of the opportunity that I am currently in with some interesting quotes from a new book that he just read titled 'From Here to Having it All in Network Marketing' by Ken Dunn. I just wanted to share it with you. Hope you enjoy it.
There are so many very good books written about our industry. I have recently read two new books that have just been released and would like to share with you, a couple of quotes from both of those books.
The first book is called “From Here to Having it All in Network Marketing”. It was written by Ken Dunn, who is the top distributor for Max International.
I met Ken recently, at a conference in Dallas, and was very impressed with the respect he showed for our industry. The following are some of the interesting quotes that caught my attention:
“Your WHY should make you cry”
“You might be able to make $10,000 a month in income without an insurmountable WHY, but you’ll never get to $100,000 a month unless you have a reason buried deep within you that drives you to make this happen.”
“Our core task in network marketing is prospecting.”
“Leaders in every area of life have one significant common thread: they identified their core task early on, and they stayed laser-focused on it”
“People join this business for three reasons: They know you, they like you, and they trust you.”
“If you focus on relationships, the money truly does come later.”
“Introducing your upline enables another person to answer all your prospects questions, go over the details of the business, and bring them to a logical conclusion. Your job is to simply direct your prospect to the information and then get somebody else to fill in the gaps”
“The best prospectors in network marketing are out in the world, always meeting new people. Plan to attend some networking events. Go to your company’s functions. Get to know people. Just get out there in society. If you increase your exposure to the world you are going to increase your list.”
“Your unique personality has to connect with the right lead generation technique. Let’s start with these twelve options; let’s experiment with them a little bit and see what we can come up with that fits your personality."
Twelve ways to generate leads:
1. Internet search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.)
2. Buying leads
3. Collecting business cards
4. Print advertising
5. Online advertising
7. Car adds (advertising, wrapping)
8. Email blasting
9. Social networking (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc.)
10. Specialty programs
11. Local social and community groups
12. Extended friends
“When you realize that you can find ways to generate leads that you’re comfortable with, ways that truly work for you, your business starts to become fun!”
“Improve your communication”
“Effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know” “How you say things is as important as what you say”
“When you’re attempting to build a relationship with somebody during the recruiting process, ask open ended questions. People love this because we all love to talk about ourselves. Don’t make the fatal flaw of interrupting them.” “Not interrupting people is paramount to becoming a successful communicator.”
“Regardless of what you‘ve got going on in your life, when you are with somebody, it’s essential to be with that person fully- body, mind and soul.”
“ The secret lies in enjoying the journey, each and every bump along the way, and not loosing sight of what’s truly important.”
“The way to stay present to your life while you are building for the future is to make sure that your future goals are balanced within the context of your whole life. You want to make sure you take time for yourself and your health. You don’t want to neglect your family- the very ones you want to create a better life for.”
The other book that I read was titled “Beach Money” and was written by Jordan Adler, the top distributor for SendOutCards.
I’ll pass on some quotes from that book to you in a few days.
