Contrary to popular belief Network Marketing is a business of relationship marketing! Let me explain...there is nothing that makes me more hoppin' mad than to see these ads that say "I just made $50K in my first month in the business and never talked to anyone!" or "Sponsor 100 people in 30 days and never sell anything" They are simple lures into a business that is not going to last the long haul not to mention very misleading. In fact, it's ads like that from above that give our industry a bad name. I think it is about time that the legitimate business owners in our industry stand up and take it back!

So I want to talk about the legitimate way to grow a Network Marketing business. What I have to say may not be popular because it takes time and its not going to be about hiding behind your computer but it will produce results for the long haul. That's why we are in business, right? I am going to be talking about the 7 things to do as your prospecting professionals but also things that work once you are working with business partners.

The 7 Important steps to Relationship Marketing 1.0:

1. Use programs on the internet to remind you about important dates: i.e.

birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

 

2. Tithe your time in every area of your life. Volunteering in the community, help out

people in your business (side-line), help out in your Church, Synagogue, or Mosque.

 

3. Offer things of Value to professionals around you

4. Openly share ideas - operate with an abundance mentality

5. Mastermind with leaders in the business- talk about successes, challenges, and solutions

 

6. Always operate with integrity, if you say you are going to do something then do it,

always operate with consistency.

 

7. Use a good follow up system i.e. Outlook Calendar or a Franklin planner.

 

Use programs on the internet to remind you about important dates: i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, etc

It is important that you are a step above the rest. How many people remember your Birthday? How about you’re Anniversary (Marriage or Business)? How does it make you feel when someone drops you a note of appreciation? How does it make you feel when you get a Birthday card in the mail from a business partner or associate? If you are like 99% of the World population it makes you feel special. So when you are growing a network it is important that you make people feel special. When they think of you, you want to be certain that they have a great overall feeling of you! When timing is right for them they will join you in business!

Tithe your time in every area of your life. Volunteering in the community, help out people in your business (side-line), help out in your Church, Synagogue, or Mosque.

When people think of the word tithe, they think of Church and 10% of your income. However if you think with the same terms where time is concerned you will be amazed at your results. Think of time as a monetary value, as your time has value, right? Donate your time. When a friend is in need, be the first to step up. When you hear about a community member that needs help, be the first to lend a hand. You are in Church this Sunday and they announce that they need help with the Youth group this summer, be the first to raise your hand and help out. I want you to simply do your own experiment over the next 90 days. Try out tithing your time…I promise you will be happy with your results.

Offer things of Value to professionals around you

I think it is important that you are again a step above the rest. Be the one that brings value to the table. If you come across a tool that will be incredibly helpful for a professional in your career then be the one to send it on to them. If you hear about an e-book related to the business that might be the one thing that changes their career, be the one to call them and pass it along. When I talk about value, I simply mean that you give you something to someone and expect nothing in return. How does it make you feel when someone thinks enough of you to share something (anything) with you? Get my point? Check out the section called “Free Gifts for visiting our site”

Openly share ideas - operate with an abundance mentality

Ever had a great idea on how to grow your business? Ever implemented it and it took your business to the moon? Take the idea and share it with every business person you know. I know, I know! I am sure you think I am absolutely crazy right now, right? Well it’s about abundance! Would you agree that there is more than enough to go around? If you say “No”, then this business is not for you! If you say “Yes” keep reading. When I talk with friends in the business I openly share ideas that I have for working the business. Most of my friends are outside of my current business. We are all business owners with different companies and we share regularly. I have gotten some great ideas from friends in the business. Have you?

Mastermind with leaders in the business- talk about successes, challenges, and solutions

I think it is important that you network with other successful leaders. If you are not successful yet tie yourself to someone who is where you want to be. Whether you meet regularly in your local community and network with professionals or you talk over the phone with leaders all over the World. It’s very important that you surround yourself with successful people. I think it is important that you talk about things that created crazy success for you. I think it is just as important to discuss challenges that you are coming across in your everyday building of your business. It’s the failures that lead to success! It’s all about failing forward, right? As you are networking its important to be solutions. People are attracted to positive! So be the positive force within your network.

Always operate with integrity, if you say you are going to do something then do it, always operate with consistency.

That really is self explanatory! I think it is very important that if you tell someone you are going to meet them at 5pm, which you are there no later than 4:59. If you tell someone that you are going to be available for a three way phone call, it’s very important that you are available. If you tell someone that you are going to have lunch with them, then make sure you do. Get yourself into a routine with prospecting. Be certain that you are consistent with it.

Use a good follow up system i.e. Outlook Calendar or a Franklin planner.

Finally it is all about the follow up. So it’s important that you have a method for your follow-up. Whether you keep all of your follow up information on outlook calendar; on 3X5 cards or that you have a nice Franklin planner. It’s very important that you have something for follow up. Remember the fortune is in the follow up, so treat it that way!
