Relive Your Bad Memories
"Your imagination is yours. You can remember the past you choose, rehearse the future you want, and identify with the real and ficitonal heroes and events of your selection." - Gordon B. Hinckley
There you are faced with a pile of videos labled "memories", and a mental VCR. What do you play? It depends on whether you're trying to be happy or miserable. If you're trying to be happy, play the ones that give you hope and make you laugh!
If you're trying to be miserable, play and replay tapes of your past mistakes. Relive all the less-than-good times as if they had value. It's a rediculous stragedy, but that's what miserable people do.
As with all the other video selecions, you have a choice. If after repentance the Lord will remember your sins no more, than maybe you don't need to replay them either. Happy people sometimes replay a sad memory, but they have the motto: "be kind, don't rewind".
Miserable people watch the tape again and again until they're depressed. they don't realize that their past doesn't define their future.
