Rollin' Through The Numbers
There are not any secrets in Network Marketing; you must roll through the numbers to find your leaders.
Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers, several distributors who had failed and showed garages full of products they couldn’t sell.
During the last minutes of the show, Bill Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, “Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What is your secret?”
He replied, “There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people, 900 said ‘No’ and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all-out of those 85, only 35 were serious and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire.”
Jason Boreyko, now president of New Vision, told this story recently. When he was a distributor with Matol Botanical International, he signed up 50 people. He heard a lot of no’s on the way to those 50. Jason took one man he knew would be terrific in the business to lunch, told him about the business and the man said “no”. Jason took the man to lunch again the next month and told him the updates. Once again the man said “no”. That went on for 6 months. The 7th month something changed for the man and he said “Yes”. That man has made Jason over one million dollars. Jason worked through his numbers.
According to Richard Poe and “Wave Three”, while starting Amway, Rich Devos and Jay Van Andel, America’s eleventh richest people, recruited 500 people, 495 dropped out. The five that didn’t quit built Amway. All 7 Billion of Amway’s business was built under those 5 people. Jay and Rich had to work through their numbers.
Here is the lesson: Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to success. Bill Britt’s numbers were 11 out of 1200. Jason Boreyko’s odds were 1 out of 50.
Would you be willing to go through 200 people to find the one who would make you $50,000 a month? Or go through 200 people to make you a millionaire? Or hear uncounted “No’s” to sign up 50 people to find a million dollar person? I hope you will.
It’s easier when you know the odds up front. But here is the catch. You have your own set of odds and won’t know what they are until AFTER YOU’VE SUCCEEDED. So if you have gone through 10, 50 or 100 people and have not found one serious person yet, you can either give up and assume the business doesn’t work, or recognize that you are WORKING THROUGH YOUR NUMBERS. What will your odds be?

Quixtar or Amway Is NOTHING BUT A LOAD OF SHIT!
I sold quixtar and i worked through my numbers.I sighed up a lot of PEOPLE!I went to the meetings and
the out of town meetings,And do you know what happened to me? My upline kicked me out and took all my
names from me!
You see,I did'nt have a car I took a bus to the meetings but when it started to snow I needed a ride to
the meetings he was such a jerk about it! He would yell at me if I did'nt go, but would offer no solutions.
I had no money because I was having to buy those shitty books and tapes.Oh,but I was going to be rich! Yeah, right!
Great post!
Great post Tim! While working smart helps us get through the numbers more effciently, having the "whatever it takes" mentality is key no matter what!
Peggy, sounds like you just had a crappy upline - no matter what company you would have worked with, that dude wouldn't have been able to help you.
Hey Peggy!
Hey Peggy,
Unfortunately, there are some idiots in Network Marketing just like there are anywhere you work.
You sound like you are very bitter, but here you are at a Network Marketing site, talking with us.
That is a good sign. I have been involved with Networking for 15 years.
I have had my teeth kicked in, I've been lied to, stolen from and abused. But I didn't quit.
Guess what? I met someone in my upline who is unquestionably the finest person I have ever known. His name is Todd King.
I believe everything we go through in life has a purpose. The purpose sometimes seems like the whole world is against you, but what I have found is that if you respond negatively to the situation, you remain mired in it.
Any situation is neither all positive or all negative, it is your perception of it that makes it so.
Here is hoping you choose the former.
Live your Dream!
