Around & Around We Go!! Where We Stop!! Nobody Knows!!

So you found an opportunity. Now how do you market it for free? Post as much as you can on websites? Contact as many people as you can without spamming? No matter what anyone tells you? Without a large marketing expense account at your disposal it will always come down to a numbers game to be successful. There are no secret money making miracles out there. Wake up people and stop expecting magical secrets to help you!! The more people who see/hear the opportunity/product the more people you have who take part or buy it. It’s pretty simple math.

But here’s the tricky part! Most social networking websites frown on posting/blogging your opportunity on their websites! Some of these websites may even call it spamming. Does anyone even know what spam/spamming means anymore! These websites claim to be one or more of the following network/social/sales/marketing/business based website. If you are a “private” member of one of these websites and you post a legitimate business opportunity in their “private” forums/groups/articles/blogs/posts/etc. How can this be considered spam. Some websites have a better idea and have removed and banned only the crooks out there promoting get rich scams where people are rewarded for recruitment and not product/service sales. “Here a scam. There a scam. Everywhere a scam scam” is another good article explaining scams.

Here’s another free form of marketing. Permission marketing or more commonly known as e-mail marketing. YAY FUN! Not so much!! Many people in this industry are crooks and scam artists. This makes them mean people to deal with. Good luck trying to befriend or develop a “social networking” relation with these people. With that said permission marketing is still a very successful way to network market. It’s also the most legal way if done correctly. You must first request someone to be your friend and/or allow you to send/tell them your opportunity. The problem is with all those scams out there many people SLAM THE DOOR IN YOUR FACE to put it in kind terms.

If the opportunity you are promoting is legal & ethical with good intentions then I suggest you just keep working at it. Success will follow if you work hard & believe in it. In the end as I said before, without money to spend on marketing you must put in the time and work. NOTHING IS FREE. I will indulge deeper into the word FREE in the future. But I will leave you with this; just because it didn’t cost you money does not always mean it was FREE.

Always here to help,
Cliff

Thank You!

I know exactly what you're talking about with these other social networking sites that forbid you even talking about your business unless someone asks you about it.  I've been getting on a lot of networking sites these past two weeks and trying to meet open-minded people like myself who known and love MLM or just networking.  I put a few things out there where I was allowed to, and I actually got a new team member this past week from one network site I joined, so it will pay off, but I'm looking for certain people...people who "get it" and see the big picture in this amazing business.

Anyway, thank you for sharing this information.  It lets me know I'm at least on the right track.

Sincerely,

Heya

Good thoughts Clif  I wholehearted endorse what your saying in the article. I invested in new marketing system, it's a coop where like minded people throw in a few bucks to reach out to the masses; It's a FANTASTIC idea who's time has come.

Certainly real marketing costs hundreds of thousands of dollars  to get the word out to be successful; well, that's the price you pay. The freebie might be attractive to those who lack self disipline and are in debt up to their eyeballs. But as you said there on a journey leading to nowhere.

I Agree!

Hi Clifford,

I can totally relate to what you're saying about what is and isn't considered SPAM in forums.

I had a situation happen recently that really upset me.

I had joined a group on Facebook about six months ago for a certain Canadian political party.  In addition to being a member of the Facebook group, I am also a PAID member of that political party.  I even did some volunteer work for them in the last election.  So I posted a discussion topic asking people to comment on the pros and cons of using MLM to fight global warming.  And of course I included a link to my opportunity.  I was told I was spamming the group with "get rich quick" schemes.

If I'm an active member of a group and post relevant content with a single external link, why is this SPAM?  Isn't the whole point of joining a group, to discuss topics with individuals who have at least one similar interest to you?  I just don't get it.  Someone starts up a group for people who are interested in saving the environment, then tells them they are SPAMMING that group if they start a discussion that has to do with saving the environment.  Go figure.

Anyway, thanks for posting.  It felt good to know that I'm not alone in my frustration.

Cheers,

Laura

You are 100% correct.

So many people don't even know what the true meaning of the word spam is anymore. According to many people if advertisements are not directly wanted they consider it spam. Wrong, spam is unwanted unsolicited advertising. If you requested to be a friend or member of a group then advertised this is not spam. This is called permission marketing. You have followed the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 by sending a request first. Good for you! Stand your ground!

Thanks for the clarification

I was wondering myself what exactly spamming was.  It is just such a generic term.  But u are right. If u accept a request and they show u an opportunity/business/whatever, and it's not for you, then it's not spamming.  that's why i can't get mad if someone i accepted a request from says "hey utroy, i got this opportunity that i think you would be interested in".  neither should anybody else

What is Spam?

Spam is simply unwanted unsolicited advertisement.

  1. Unwanted meaning you didn't ask for it..
  2. Unsolicited meaning you have no connection with the person giving it to you.
  3. Advertisement meaning an offer/sale/promotion etc etc.

All of these must apply to the advertisement for it to be considered spam!

Example of non-spam advertisement:

A person sends you a personal message about an offer AFTER making a connection with you. Once you hand over your contact info they can legally and ethically send you info about there business. Until you request them to take you of their list they can keep doing so.
