SO YOU WANT TO START AN INTERNET MARKETING OR MLM BUSINESS? WHERE DO YOU START?

Are you overwhelmed with your research on how to start a marketing business? You have come to the right place. I am just an “average Joe”. (Rather and “average Jane”) who decided there must be a better way than working the 9-5 making someone else the “big money”. When I started my research, I found a huge amount of people pitching that their business was better than the next. When I put my e-mail address out there on the internet, I got 50 e-mails in the first week of people I didn’t know trying to tell me there business was the best. Don’t get me wrong, this was a great place to start. I already learned a lot. I observed what appealed to me and what didn’t. This was all a part of the learning process. Some were inexpensive, but most were expensive, at least for me, considering I was living paycheck to paycheck. I looked at each of the e-mails that were sent to me and I even bit on one. After I fell for the $150.00 start up cost, I was discouraged that they then wanted me to spend $5000.00 to market my business. They called me on the phone and needed my decision immediately because “the offer was good today only”. Well, I am glad I didn’t fall for that. What I found out in the days to come made me even more glad. I stumbled upon a video on the internet, that was the best decision I ever made. I found a mentor, guru, coach, or marketing consultant (whatever you want to call it). She turned me on to a new way of thinking. I found out that I didn’t need to join a MLM business immediately but I could be looking for one and researching. She also gave me some suggestions about that too. There were things I needed to have in place first. I needed my very own self branded marketing system. (Check out my website listed below for the one I use.) I needed a web site with my own domain name. I needed to market ME first. I learned that I needed a strategy that would help all the pieces fall into place. I also learned I had a lot to learn. Education is the key to any successful business. You have to be educated to be a leader. Now this doesn’t mean that you need to take a college course, however you can if you want. It simply means that you need to take a look at what other successful internet marketers are doing and learn from them. You need to buy, rent, or borrow every book possible on building your self-confidence, and becoming a leader. (Again, check out my website link below for my suggestions.) And you need join every community, forum, blog, and chat site you can to get your name out there. It doesn’t matter right now if you join a site that is geared toward basket weaving (if that is your thing) just get out there and start making friends. Be sure you post often.

TIP: When setting up your profiles and usernames on these sites, make sure you are consistent. You are there to market yourself. I use my own name. If you aren’t comfortable in doing that, pick one that points to what your new business is about.

Later on, you will learn which sites are the best for your business. The point I am trying to make is you have to just get out there and make a presence for yourself. Present yourself as a leader in what you know about. Once you start learning about internet marketing, and you have done your research, then you will be an expert in that field as well. Just reading this article puts you ahead of the person after you reading this same article. You already have started your education.
