If you are going to use social networking for business you must do so carefully and with intent. It must be a plan, with strategies and goals that can be identified and measured.
Do not start your social networking as a ‘normal’ person and then turn it into a business venture. It will annoy people who are your virtual friends. As a ‘normal’ person they have been attracted to you for a whole lot of different reasons so don’t abuse this and turn it into a business platform.
Plan who it is you want to attract, your demographic if it applies, or the type of person. Do you need people with certain talents or connections? Who do you want to be seen as?
Put your business/proposition/opportunity to the side for a moment and choose how YOU want to display and portray yourself – first.
Then begin your social networking with your intention in mind – always. You must keep the focus on who/what you are building.
As you progress through your interactions you will know when it is right to share more about your business etc.
Remember the old saying – you can shear a sheep for life, but only slaughter the lamb once.
Once you have your network built on the main attraction – you – you will be able to use that same network for many opportunities.
You may even learn something from them that you never thought you would.
Sizzle on

I hope you enjoyed this series of articles. I’m not an expert by any means, but I have learned what I have shared from people who are and put those strategies into place, and they are working for me.
