Somebody Shoot Me - Please!
Somebody Shoot Me - Please!
That's exactly what you should be saying if your profile picture is goofy, weird, indecent,
sideways, or just plain unprofessional. Somebody needs to "shoot" a new one of you.
If you're a serious-minded network marketer and your intention is to boost your business,
sit up and pay attention! Your profile picture matters.
When people come to your profile page on Betternetworker, Facebook, Twitter, ect., what is the
first thing they look at? Your picture, of course! People want to see the person behind the
business.
Great! You've invented a better mouse trap. You're the smartest consultant ever to pick up a
telephone and wear shoes. You've figured out how to turn popsicle sticks into gold, toilet water
into wrinkle cream, and a stack of old magazines into $100 bills!
And now you want to share the fruits of your genius with the rest of us -and, of course, you won't
object to becoming filthy rich while you're at it.
Well, you won't sell squat if you're guilty of any of the following profile picture "disasters":
1. "Your child" as Your Profile Picture. People will immediately exit. Keep your children in
your photo albums where they belong.
2. The "Chugging a Beer" Profile Picture. Enough said.
3. The "Far Away" Profile Picture. No one should ever have to get out a magnifying glass to
see you.
4. The "Attempt to be Sexy" Profile Picture. There is absolutely nothing less professional
than a scantily dressed business person.
5. "Your Pet Turtle" as Your Profile Picture. People that know me, know that I love animals.
They're adorable, but don't use a picture of your pet to represent YOU.
6. The "Far Too Serioius" Profile Picture. A research study conducted on LinkedIn revealed
that people who smile get 28% more followers. Anyway, who wants to do business with Danny-Downer?
7. The "Trying to be Goofy" Profile Picture. Until you have successfully branded yourself, put
away the goofy hats, props, clothes, and antics. Don't send out the wrong kind of message.
8. The "Blank Photo" Profile Picture. This is the worst disaster of all. Oftentimes, people
simply won't connect with people without profile pictures. If you are using social media, people
want to see you.
Remember, marketing is all about authenticity, visibility, transparency, and trust.
So, does somebody need to "shoot" you?

Great advice Melanie
I immediately click off anyone who doesn't have a picture for sure and you're right the cute, pet, children pics don't cut it.
Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention.
To your success,

What possessed you??
Melanie,
I often wonder what people think as they post their pictures. It's kind of like being back in high school and thinking that putting thumb tacks in your shoes to make them click is cool. (OK, I'm telling my age here.)
It's not cool to not put up a good clear pic of yourself. It's, uh, social networking, right? Not pet networking, product networking, here's my kids networking, do you like my car networking, is it?
RICK
I'll show you my pet turtle if you'll show me yours.
What Can I Say: A Picture Is Worth .....
I agree, if there are no pictures and that person has been there for a while, I do not even bother to connect with them
You are soooo right!!!
It would be nice to see who you are talking with or too for that matter. Then again can we be sure that the picture we look at is really the person we are talking too? I would like to think so. I think we should be more honest in our businesses. Think of this as your office. When you invite someone into it you don't expect to ware a bindfold right.
