3 Ways of generating better leads for your network marketing business
When many people join a network marketing company they are asked to make a list of friends and family by their sponsor as a first step to finding leads to talk to about the business. If you are using these people as a way to test your delivery, that may be it is a good idea, but if you are really looking to create a large business then thinking that your friends and family are going to be interested is likely going to be the wrong approach.
In my coaching I always suggest that you do not talk to your friends and family until you are making at least $5000 a month in network marketing revenue because that is when they may listen to you and your story.
So, how do you find leads that would be interested in talking to you about your business? Here are 3 ways to find leads that will truly be interested in talking to you about network marketing.
1) Give away free content that only a network marketing person who find valuable and use a lead capture page to give away that information. If you have an ebook or video series on the topic of network marketing it is safe to assume that only people interested in network marketing would be download that information. These people are the people you should be talking with about the business. Now, you do not want to immediately pitch your business to these people, but rather build a relationship with them by providing them additional value. You can do this with additional articles or training material for network marketers.
2) Find out where the network marketers are hiding and use these sites to find ways of introducing them to your free content. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin all have groups and postings on the topic of network marketing. These are great places to give away your free content that was created for the network marketers. Other sites like betternetworkers cost a few dollars to join but they are targeted and worth the investment.
3) Conduct live skill training calls or webinars to help increase your presence as a network marketing professional. If you are not ready for this type of content delivery then partner with a coach or mentor who can show you the ropes when it comes to giving presentations and providing useful content to people online. Make sure the training you provide is targeted to the needs of network marketers so you know the people who attend are interested in the business model.
Network marketing is about building a relationship with people and working as a team to build the business independently. You start this process by developing content that is interesting to people and showing them you are a leader who can help them build their business.
This is the key to long term success in network marketing but it takes time and effort to make it a reality. Take your time and build it right the first time, with the right company and with the right team.
