You Bet Your Darn Tooting I Did

Read More: Dealing with Objections

You've no doubt by now heard the most common rejections from "Now is not a good time" to "How much does this cost".

I remember back when I first started in network marketing and my upline taught me all about handling rejections. At first I went along with it as they were the expert. But something about me didn't agree with the responses I was giving.

Then it occurred to me what I was being taught was how to deal with objections even though people wanted what I had to offer. Or did they?

You probably figured out by now that I was buying leads and cold calling. And, because I was in the mindset of "Do me a favor and take a look at my business" it wasn't helping my business at all.

Thankfully I came across Mike Dillard, the man who has changed the way I would run my network marketing business forever. When I heard about Mike Dillard and his Magnetic Sponsoring product, it really resonated with me. For once I felt like someone understood what I was going through.

After I watched the free seven day bootcamp series, that did it for me. And, you bet your darn tooting I bought the MS course.

When Mike talked about "Become the hunted instead of the hunter" I was set on a mission which would change how I thought about network marketing and as well as anyone I would come across who was interested in it.

So, yes it has had a positive change on my life and my business. I've been blessed to have learned and applied this valuable knowledge.

Something wasn't right though. I understood what Mike was teaching and applying it, but I wasn't seeing any results. I could not figure it out for the life of me. Right about this time network marketing was becoming so difficult for me. I knew what I was supposed to do, and I was doing it, but nothing was coming to fruition.

WTF - what was I supposed to do.

Then it was clear as day.

EUREKA!!!

Because I was going through some drastic changes and stepping outside my comfort zone, network marketing wasn't like having a corporate job. It was entirely different and because of that I needed to STOP FIGURING IT OUT.

As soon I stopped trying to figure it out, I learned I didn't need to deal with objections anymore. If I had to deal with objections then I was returning to that wrong state of mind where I was trying to figure it out and persuade people to join my business.

This is the beauty of building your business with a whole different mindset. You don't have to run your business using persuasion.

I immediately began operating my business with the right posture where my time was precious and dealing with anyone who wasn't worth my time, wasn't someone I should talk to anyhow.

What a concept hey! This was new to me though, but it made so much sense after if finally hit me. I'm the leader here of my business. I don't need to convince anyone anything. If they want to be a part of my business because of the values I choose to run my business from, then great. If not, it's no skin off my back. (A long time ago I would have had a hard time saying that, but not anymore.)

Now of course how I run my business was a big part to this whole shift. It required me to use that same philosophy Zig Ziglar speaks about where, "You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want." Thankfully we have communities like BetterNetworker and Facebook where you can network and build a trusting relationship with your audience.

If you can provide enough value just to these sources alone, it would move you in the right direction - FORWARD.  My mission is to "Make a positive difference in people's lives" and it has been much stronger than ever since I made this mental shift.

Within the last few months I have been able to harness that belief with my Maverick Business Builders Blog where I am able to help struggling network marketing professionals learn they are not the only one who is having difficulty in their business and there is hope for them - Someone is here to make that positive difference!

I'm telling you this because when you figure out what's your struggling point, you can do whatever you believe is possible. That's exactly what happened to me and can for you too.

So, if you find you're dealing with objections, then you should take a long look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, "Do I need to deal with objections or handle objections."

Handling objections is a far better approach and if you can see what these objections are, you'll learn that what your propsect may really be doing is challenging you.

Perhaps they are seeing how you are dealing with the situation.

Are you going to crumble? Or, are you going to rise to the occassion and take control of the conversation as a leader should?

Dedicated to your success,

Jerome Ratliff

Thanks...

Emily - I'm glad you liked the article.

Tyson - It took me a long time to become that way, so thank you, I appreciate that.

Alma - Totally! Having choices and choosing the one you feel the most comfortable with, but also choosing the right one CAN make a difference.

They still say no!

You can over come the objections perfectly but if you do not reason with them from the emotional stand point you still dont win.

It is better to build a relationship with them and wait until they are ready.

I had some say I have no money I then showed them we can start for FREE then they said I told you I dont have the money. It does not matter what you say when they have their mind made up.

Chris, Sounds like you too

Chris,

Sounds like you too STOPPED figuring it out as well, and went with building a relationship with your prospect until they were ready to make the decision.

I agree, this doesn't guarantee anything, but it certainly will increase your chances of being successful at handling objections and enrolling more people.

Any other comments?

So, has anyone else had a similar experience in dealing with objections?

Let's get some more comments and hear what your experience has been and how it can help all of us.
