He said “I’ll Be Up to 6 Figures by the End of Next Week!”

I am sure that you have all been there. You get that prospect talking all big on the phone. He is begging with you to let him join your opportunity telling you that he will have hundreds of people in his down line by this time next week.

So you think to yourself what the heck, I’ll give him a shot. He signs on the dotted line and you think that you just got you next network marketing all star.

The guy flies under the radar for the next three weeks or so, and you decide to give him a call to see how he is doing.

Sure enough he doesn’t even have the dignity to answer your phone, and a week later you get an email from him telling you that it is just too much work and he fed up.

Your all star just turned into a tire kicker in the blink of an eye.

Now the question is how exactly do you tell the difference between superstar and superdud.

Well the first thing I always like to do is when I am talking to my prospects on the phone and starting to “close the sale” I be careful to not play with their emotional strings.

Some people would argue that you should always make your prospect emotional because a sale is a sale, and you will get more prospects to sign up if they are emotionally attached to your opportunity.

The only problem with that is a sale in network marketing is a little different. Yes you can go out there and sell your retail to product to as many people as possible, but when it comes to new distributors you really need to be careful.

There is no point in hiring some guy because he has a nice tingly feeling in his gut, and then you waist all of your time and energy training him, but he never does a dang thing.

You need to be selective of who you spend your time with. Wasting is time is wasting your most valuable resource.

Another thing, everything that goes up must come down. If a prospect joins your business because he is on an emotional high eventually he will be on an emotional low.

It might not be this week or maybe not even next, but eventually he is going to give up, it is just the inevitable truth.

Just make sure that your prospects join you because of you and not because of that tingly feeling in their gut.

I read an email from Mike Dillard the other talking about how he can tell if a prospect means business is by asking them what book on marketing or self-development are they reading right now.

I have found that 8 times out 10 prospects will say that they are not reading a single thing at the time.

There are just a few quick ways to weed out the big-talking tire kickers.
