I'm Blind! I'm Doing It! What's Your Excuse?
Read More: The last 7 days with my newest and current network marketing company has lead me to realize
something so simple but astounding and if you read to the end of this article, I hope that
if you’re not one of the ones who has a successful MLM business you will realize why and do
yourself justice and find one that has the essential ingredient that will enable you to
succeed.
Mlm has always had its challenges for me because of my blindness, and since I started on the
journey to financial freedom I’ve constantly honed and refined what I believe to be the
perfect MLM business opportunity for me.
When I look back to the start of this whole journey, I can’t believe the things I did
purely because I wanted so much to succeed in network marketing and I sure wish someone had
slapped me round the head and told me what an idiot I was. Then again, if they had I would
have been too darned stubborn and pigheaded to listen because that’s who I am and if I
wasn’t I’d probably have gone back to lining someone else’s pockets about 6.5 years ago. ?
My first company’s products were sold via catalogue, so, there I was, 6 days after the
birth of my beautiful daughter, walking round the streets of Blackpool with her on my
front, lugging a dirty great big shopping trolley behind me. Of course, I couldn’t go on
my own as I needed help to find the doorways, letterboxes, magazines that had been left out
and order forms that had been filled in. Then, there was the picking and packing of
products, not to mention inputting the said order from form to computer, taking the orders
round (usually to be told that they couldn’t pay for them or they were no longer wanted).
God I must have been either mad or gullible....or just plain stubborn. I think I’d take
all 3. I hated it but I never stopped for 3 and a half years. Out in the wind and rain
with my little girl just so I could make a living. Gosh it makes me shudder just to think
of it. And how was it sold to me in the first place? Oh, you don’t need to sell. The
magazine does it all for you. They neglected to tell me how cold, wet and miserable I’d be
and what abuse I was likely to get from people who didn’t want the darned books in the
first place, not to mention the amount of money I spent on re-ordering every time the books
changed or every time someone’s dog saw fit to eat the one I had left them. Then there was
the question of recruiting. Oh, simple, they said, just tell them to do what you’re doing
and how much you love it. I hated it and if I surely hated it that was going to come
across when I spoke to anyone about it. Just under 4 years in that company and I had
recruited 1 distributor who quit after a week. She hated the catalogues too. Not only
this but the whole thing depended upon repeat selling and if people didn’t buy, regardless
of whether it was me or someone in my team, I didn’t get paid.
Then there was my unique challenge of needing so much support. I couldn’t do this
independently without sighted assistance so if I couldn’t get any help I couldn’t go out
and if I couldn’t go out, I couldn’t shift product and if I couldn’t shift product, I
didn’t get paid. So, in March 2006, I almost gave up my dreams of being financially free
and looked for a job. One where I needed very little support and one where I didn’t get
cold, wet and abused.
However, I thought I’d have another look, thinking that there surely must be a company out
there who’s product could be delivered in a different way and sure enough I came across it.
A little sceptically I filled in the form for information and got a call back. The
products were delivered to the customer and I didn’t have to be involved at all. The
company had websites both for its business opportunity and its products. The compensation
plan looked good and I was once again, joining my second mlm company. Enter some of the
most awesome people I had met up until this point. I started with a flurry and for a
while, things looked good. Sure I still had to go out and see customers sometimes to talk
to them about the products and services but I could do it over the phone and they could use
the website. I was a happy bunny. The problem this time however, was the methods I was
required to use to recruit....pitching the products or the business opportunity, handing
out business cards, leaflets, fliers, prospecting brochures and the like, so, I still
needed some sort of sighted assistance to go places as the places weren’t always accessible
via public transport. I carried on plugging away however, and soon, I reached the first
big milestone on the career plan. I was a very happy bunny and felt that at last I was
starting to succeed. However, once again in 2008, I found myself without sighted
assistance and thus my productivity was inconsistent at best but I refused to give in. I
loved the product and it was to me, I was a no-brainer. The fact that often people began
to glaze over when you spoke to them about such stuff didn’t deter me because I had been
told over and over that it’s just a numbers game. You show enough people, somebody will
join as a customer or distributor. However, I still had a problem recruiting. We had lots
of free training and some of the best in the MLM sector but still I just couldn’t get out
there and get to the leads and internet marketing looked so complicated that how was I
expected to do something that was duplicateable? I was happy to learn but not everyone
picks stuff up and I wanted it simple with a list of things that I had to do each day. Not
only that, I wanted to be able to run my business independently of anyone else.
So, still having support worker issues throughout last year, I began to really look for
mentors who could show me what to do on the internet to bring me leads. I found him last
September purely by chance and he was really good, teaching me how to write articles and
the like but still, it was, I thought, too complicated for me to duplicate throughout my
team. However, it was through him that I met Rachael Macgregor. We got chatting on Skype
and I was immediately drawn to her because of what she had done and most importantly how
she had replaced her family’s income. However, she didn’t tell me about the product, she
didn’t tell me about the compensation plan, she told me, in great details, exactly HOW she
had done it. I saw what she did and knew immediately that I could duplicate it. Not only
could I learn how to do it myself but I could easily teach others. Our team has step by
step videos and support in Skype rooms which you get all for joining and at no extra cost.
I have been marketing my business for just a week, I got my first lead in less than 24
hours and already I have someone about to sign up as a business builder. I waited a year
in the first company and over that in my second. The product, ladies and gentleman, is
almost irrelevant though it too is astounding. The compensation plan should be good and is
important, but when you have the system and the team support you can do it. I am living
proof.
So, I urge you all to take a look at what you are doing? Do you have a good system? Are
you absolutely blown away by your team support? could you tell someone in detail exactly
what is required of them and more importantly for those looking at MLM business
opportunities, do you know exactly HOW you are expected to promote your products and
services? If they won’t tell you step by step then beware. Being able to follow the system
is paramount and I know now that if I had been wise enough to ask this question 7 years
ago, my success would have come sooner.

Lawrence. Thank you so much for your kind words. If people have excuses then their "Why" isn't big enough. Mine happens to be 7 years of age and into dancing which in itself is expensive. My "Why" will be here long after I'm gone and i need to know she ahd her family are well looked after and not enslaved in some poor job with a boss who takes everything she has to give. It's been a hard slog but i wouldn't change it for the world. I've learned so much and come so far in the last couple of weeks. My journey has been amazing and long may it continue.

I do appreciate your comments because I'm legally-blind and have NO Central Vision. Haven't driving since 1995. that's a real bummer, to say the least.
Because I've had so many people ask me, "Bryan, HOW are you able to see the computer screen at all? HOW do you adapt?" I created a video of HOW I navigate around my screen...not necessarily HOW I "see" because that's merely impossible to show people.
Along with "speech to text" and Zoom technologies, I'm able to use my 24" MAC screen as a 48" X 48" screen...just divided into 4 quadrents. The Department for Blind Services of FL help some with technology.
Company's Tech Support just "love it" when Robert Bryan Anthony calls and needs help because they get an opportunity to STRETCH their own ideas and think and act outside-the-box!
I get GoDaddy techs stating, "I've spoken to over 500 people and never have a visually-impaired person creating a web site! Incredible! How do you do it?"
EASY: Heartfelt Vision + Effort + Knowledge + Determination + Perseverance + Action + Adapting = Results and Rewards!

Kerry, what you and I have as a blessing, that sighted people don't have, is the ability to "see" within the "heart" of matters; whether we're looking at a particular situation/event or a possible outcome, we --somehow-- have ways of "seeing" what others don't.
Therefore, I count it ALL JOY that I'm visually impaired! I encourage my challenges, no matter the size, to enter into my existence because I'm aware that i have a Freedom that's bigger than anything else in my life!
I always say, "Hit challenges head-on because the BIGGER the challenge or obstacle, the more GLORY there is in overcoming it."
I am astounded to the fact that I've been in 3 MLM opportunities (within 20 yrs.) and have had little results, if any, because we could NOT get it duplicated, nor was it supported with a system and community you refer to.
Fortunately, after searching for over 15 yrs to find a system that could help the visually-impaired, in April 2010, I finally found what I was needing...it provided a solution for my PAIN.
It's an incredible support system, Masterminding Group, Marketing Family, and Top-Notch training.
And that's just for starters!
Your inspiration is MY inspiration. Your heart-felt vision is MY vision. You help to remind me of WHY I do what I do, no matter how much the challenge is to see. i am here on earth to Inspire Awareness So People Can Experience True Freedom!
