Are You Focused On Income Producing Activities?

Or are you busy trying to accomplish 50 other things at the same time and running around like a chicken with its head cut off?

A lot of people just starting out in Direct Sales, Network Marketing, MLM, or whatever you choose to call it, clearly have no idea what Income Producing Activities they should be focused on.

I have no doubt that you are working on several things right now that down the road will produce income, but they do nothing to start producing income right away!

Most people, including myself when I first started out focused far too much on the company products, every stinking detail about the ingreidents, the science behind it all, the comp plan.

I was busy learning how to build a blog, taking courses one after the other, listening to one guru after another, studying non stop... 

 If you're doing the same exact thing, then I can save you a lot of time and frustration if you read on.

I am not saying those things aren't important, because they are! You do need some basic knowledge of your comp plan, product line, and depending on your goals, how to use Attraction Marketing.  But none of those are Income Producing Activities that will bring in a paycheck next week. 

If you are spending most of your time doing non income producing activities as the ones listed above, you're setting yourself up for nothing but frustration and disappointment.  

Here Are My Top Three Income Producing Activities!

You have to focus on these three things at least 75% of the time. If you can do that, you will experience a lot less frustration and become successful in half the time.

1. Share Your Opportunity – Prospecting!

It's as simple as this... If you're not talking to at least 3 people a day and sharing your opportunity, (5 to 10 would be better) then you're working on Non-Income Producing Activities.

2. Build New Relationships!

This goes hand in hand with prospecting. You have to build the relationship first before you can ever share your opportunity.

Get out and network! Hey these days you don’t even have to leave the house to network, although I suggest you do. There are meet-up groups going on all over the country in every city. Get out an mingle with people, if you’re the type person that shy’s away from socializing, then you need to break old habits, force yourself to get out more.

Remember, your not going out there to sell anyone anything! Your job at this stage is to build relationships.

If time is really limited then spend an hour a day on Facebook or Google + and start up some conversations with people.

Friend the interesting people who are talking business and current events. You can join different groups on Facebook, get connected in forums, start to add value to the conversations going on there.  People will take notice and the more value you can add to the conversation, soon they will start to look at you as a leader.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT just start hitting them over the head with your new business opportunity. That should be the last thing you discuss. It takes a little time to build a relationship. Some build faster than others.  It’s all part of the Income Producing Activities.

Lead with solutions, not your opportunity! You wouldn’t walk up to a complete stranger and ask them to marry you right? This is no different!

The Most Important Of All The Income Producing Activities…

3. The FOLLOW-UP

You undoubtedly have heard the saying, "The Fortune Is In The Follow-Up" right? 

That couldn't be more true!

The Follow-Up takes discipline and you have to schedule it in like anything else. It does no good to spend time doing all the above if you don't make the follow up call. 

In Review - Successful Income Producing Activities Include:

Sharing your opportunity each and every day with at least 3 to 5 people.

Build New Relationships Daily - Using Facebook, Twitter, Google+ Meet-Up Groups etc.

I hope the next time you find yourself starting that new blog post or watching a webinar about SEO, Article Marketing, or whatever... You will think about these 3 income producing activities and ask yourself if what you are doing right now, is going to produce income, today, tomorrow, or in 6 months.
