I'll never forget this.
I was sitting in a room filled with starry-eyed spectators
who were sitting at the very edge of their seats
ready to glean some nuggets of gold from the
Super Star on stage.

The guy's obviously got charisma with a capital 'C'....
He's got a down line that would probably wrap around the world.....TWICE!
Not to mention the biggest grin on any man I've ever seen this side of Texas!
So here we all are waiting for him to drip words of wisdom upon us
and this is what he delivered upon our weary little hearts.......
"It's Just a Numbers Game. When you hear the word "NO", be thankful
because you're going to hear "NO" 100 times before you get a "YES"!
You're just one step CLOSER to getting a "YES" so smile about it!"
Uhhhhh....what?
I wanted to slap that grin silly! (wink)
What a Ding Dong.....with a capital 'D'!
Why?
Because ......People are People.....
and the MOMENT we begin to treat them like a number.........
I PROMISE you.....
You will have NO future in Network Marketing!
These are REAL people with REAL dreams and REAL goals!
They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers,
aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas.....
REAL people with REAL dreams and desires.
NOT numbers.....
So yes, the dummy that said that may have an organization that spans the planet,
BUT MOST PEOPLE WON'T LISTEN TO "NO" that long!
Honestly, if I have to hear 100 "NO's" before I get a "YES".....
something is seriously wrong!
I'd have to take a good hard look at what I was doing and saying
before I'd move forward.

No 100 times
How many times can the average person hear no before they quit? People hate rejection...they will quit making calls and talking to people after the first couple of no's.

In all my research and working with ....
It's not that anyone is saying that people are numbers. At least I haven't run into anyone that has said that. What they ARE saying is that the more people you talk to the more successful you will be.
The people who've downloaded the ebook and haven't joined your opportunity, they are in effect saying "No or not right now."
The numbers say if you have 200 ebook downloads you will be more successful in your primary opportunity than someone who has 100. That's just pure and absolute numbers.
Should you celebrate that you have 195 (ebook download) nos to your primary opp and the other guy has 98 nos. Of course - you doubled your initial numbers and you are twice as successful as the guy who only got 98 nos.
If you get your numbers up so too will your success go up. That's the numbers game, not that people are being treated like numbers.

Sabrina, I see you heart for people and that is an awesome trait of a leader. And yeah, from a big income earner....one would hope he would offer more value than it's just a numbers game. :)

I agree Sabrina, I hate it when people say that to me, If I would have been at that convention chances are I would have been the first to leave! Via giving the speaker a piece of my mind.
I hate it marketers who have no heart and say..1 more No means a Yes is closer...Pleeease..
So Russel are you saying if you get a No you have no heart?
Are you saying that everyone you present your business to says yes because you have a heart?
Logic - If you get two people out of every 100 you talk to doesn't that mean the other 98 are saying No? If you talk to (a bigger number) say 200 and 196 say no you are still farther ahead aren't you? If you talk to 300 and 8 saying yes and the rest saying no, aren't you still farther ahead?
Don't let anyone fool you that it's not a numbers game. The more you talk to the more you win. Numbers pure and simple.
However those people enter your funnel, whether you spend hours chasing each and every one (the heart thing), there is still only a certain number that will flow through your funnel and pop out into your opportunity. The more that enter the funnel (numbers), the more will pop out (percentages). Numbers, numbers and more numbers.
If you want to build a business, logic has to enter into it, Russel. If you follow any of the great masters, such as Jim Rohn, he says keeping planting and some will germinate and some won't. Has nothing to do with having a heart - it's just numbers.

Your Ebook Downloads Do Count!
I agree, I don't want to hear no any more than the next person but the more eBook downloads increases the chances of a yes. And when a no comes from someone that opted in then it is a bit less painful then when coming from a friend or family member. Therefore the methods of having an opt-in list and a system that weeds out many of the 'no's for you is an improvement in the whole process!

Once someone has their head around that then the next step is to set up your own capture page and autoresponder so you OWN your own list. I found if you are using a company/system autoresponder the list is not yours. All you hard work developing relationships and someone else owns your list. That's tough.

Well all I got to say I never hear no! I do not ask questions that provoke that answer. People are afraid not to listen to me, Because they know it will be their loss. And If you learn the right things to say they may not join you and that is ok. But you are not stuck with a bunch of no's in your Face everyday. Just a few People that do not qualify to work with you! And a few that are. I can handle that. The ones that are not qualified are still my friends because I do not provoke them only qualify them. With the right skills anyone can do it. Rejection FREE!!!! Your friend for life Juanita Waterman
