We received a testimonial this past week from Elijeana King with 1st State Insurance.
 "I was working on a quote for a prospective client. A lot of time and work went into it. Later she told me her husband wanted to stay with the insurance agent that he has been doing business with for over 6 years. "Ok", I thought. That happens. The woman really felt upset, becaue she knew I worked hard for her. In the meantime, I sent a card with a gift card just thanking her for her time and to think of me in the future. Well, would you know she sent me 5 referrals!!! And her husband who was so sure he wanted to stay with his agent said, "When our policy is up we will work with Eli. Never in 6 years did I get a card from my agent."

The emotional state it brings?
The husband is leaving his agent. Not because the policy was too costly or the quality of customer service was unsatisfactory. It was the emotion he felt when receiving the card.
He felt APPRECIATED!
 
Sending a card is the icing on the cake. It is a genuine feeling of appreciating now matter what the outcome is. Eli did not intend to get business from it- hey, she "lost" the client. But her genuine thought brought more busines her way.
We have all bent over backwards for customers and new prospective clients, then they change their mind or its not the right time for them. Think above the competition. Not only send cards when they do business with you, but send them out when they don't.  
Greeting cards can be a powerful tool to manifest positive results in your business. If you are not sending cards in your business, what are you waiting for?
