MLM Recruiting Tips: How to Get Invited To Your Prospect’s World as a Welcomed Guest and Not a Pest

Read More: Prospecting

One of the most commonly asked questions I get is “Mike, do you have any MLM recruiting tips that I can use to build my MLM with little to no money?” Yes, I have a boat load; however, there is one basic concept you must understand first.  If you don’t understand the basics of Attraction Marketing, I could give you all the MLM recruiting tips in my arsenal but they wouldn’t do any good.

Like a house on a shaky foundation, if you don't have a solid grasp on the basics, your business is destined to collapse.

Anybody that’s spent any time hanging fliers, cold calling, calling purchased leads, and trying to convince family and friends to join their business knows the sting of getting rejected over and over and over again while building their MLM or Network Marketing business.  These “old school” sales techniques have become more difficult for a new network marketer in this age of technology and the increasing role the internet is playing in our lives.

We are drowning in a waterfall of information and endless marketing “noise” thanks to the internet.

Think about this…we can't look in any direction without a product or service being pushed in our face.  As a result, we have raised our guard and surrounded ourselves in ironclad fortresses to stave off the onslaught of hands trying to get into our pockets.  These fortresses have taken on the form of SPAM blockers, pop up blockers, caller ID, spyware software, and the “Do Not Call List.”  DVRs are not only used to record our favorite programs, but to skip the commercials, too!

There is little tolerance for solicitation and we just want to be left alone.

In the midst of all this marketing “noise,” there are two methods you can use to build your network marketing or MLM business.

1.  You can follow your upline’s advice and continue to play the numbers and see what sticks by purchasing more leads, spending more money, and having voicemails and emails go unreturned.  Simply put…getting rejected.

2.  You can educate yourself, learn a specific skill set and then educate others while positioning and branding yourself as an expert and a leader.  Those that are following your advice are coming back for more.  As word gets out and your exposure grows, more and more people are seeking you out and contacting you in an effort to ask about your business.

Which do you choose?

Obviously, any sane person would choose number two as the method of choice.

Attraction Marketing

Here’s the deal…if you have even just an ounce more knowledge than someone with a common interest, you hold value to that person.  As you share your knowledge and skill through common mediums including forums, blog posts, and even social groups like Facebook or Twitter, you are positioning yourself as an expert.  By positioning yourself as an expert, you gain your prospect's trust and then those iron clad fortresses they surrounded themselves in begin to crumble.  You will be welcomed with open arms by a group of raving fans that are drawn to your leadership, expertise, and skill.  Recognized as an identifiable leader and expert, these raving fans will turn into distributors begging to work with you and customers anxious to buy from you.  In today’s market place, this is commonly referred to as “Attraction Marketing.”

A great resource for learning the principles and foundation of Attraction Marketing is Mike Dillard's Free Five day boot camp Attraction Marketing written specifically for MLM and Network Marketing business owners.  If you get any value of this boot camp, you'll want to pick up Mike's 'Magnetic Sponsoring' course while your there.

To your success,

Mike Mundell

I agree!

Good thoughts, I am just starting to put this whole thing together, as I see the value/rapport quality in every successful person, even outside of this industry. When you give value, friendship, information, and advice, people will be drawn to you, especially when you can do it without passing on the feeling that you are selling something. The greatest thing is to not do these things because we are desperate to sponsor them, just do it to help them. Let them ask to join, eh?

Understood

It does take a little more time to develop your skills and then teach it to others to become a leader in that niche. However, in the end it will save you a lot of hassle. Instead of struggling day after day, you can develop yourself and in turn, develop others once you obtain that knowledge.

Jeff, sounds like you are

Jeff, sounds like you are learning fast.

Two things to remember:

1. Learn ONE skill and master it while keeping the blinders on to everything else. Don't feel like you have to get the "new wave of technology" as this seems to be appearing everyday. Stick to your guns and when you master your particular skill, move on to another and master it.

2. No need to appeal to the masses...just those with the same mindset, interests, etc as you. This creates easy rapport as people can relate to you and your message.

Keep up the great work Jeff. Keep me posted of your successes and feel free to holler if I can be of any assistance.

Have you gone through Mike's boot camp yet?

Well put Emmie. One of my

Well put Emmie.

One of my favorite analogies I use with my new team members is that everybody goes through a training period with their job.

Doctors go to schools for years.

Garbage collectors go through a training period to learn how to run their machinery, learn the route, etc.

I bet you had to go through a training period of some sort to learn the basic skills in your current job.

Owning a business is no different. If we don't take the time to learn and hone our skill set, we won't be in business very long.

Thank you Therese

Thanks for the kind words, Therese. Feel free to give me a holler if I can be any assistance.

To your success,

Mike

Caring Relationship Without A Agenda

After learning most of the button to push, what to say and not to say. It has become very evident that if you don't build caring, meaningful relationships with people first it ain't going to work as we say down here in the south.

Agenda free relationships is where all success must start. It is crucial to build relationships where you would want to go on a cruise with friends and look forward to the future...

Folks don't need another sales pitch or how to book. Anyone can tell you how to do something... The key is holding them by the hand if they are coachable and teachable and helping through the miring clay of life, with encouragement, and hands on help no matter what the instance is...

One can be the Catalyst but it take a community of like minded people heading in the same direction to accomplish the Dream!!!

WORK is not a curse word it is a Privilege!!!

Have a Blessed Day My Friends and Friends to Come!!!

Right On Danny

Spot on. I like what Harvey Mackay says in Eric Worre's interview:

Six magic words: "What can I do for you?"
