Let me clarify. The reason the attrition rate in network marketing is so high is because too many people treat their network marketing prospects like a one night stand.

What exactly does that mean? Well, think back to your scandalous youth for a minute. When you were going to the club on a Friday night, chances are you were looking for a ‘score’. Most guys/girls aren’t at the club to find Mr. /Mrs. Right.

So you put on your hottest clothes and doused yourself with the ‘can’t miss’ cologne/ perfume, and off you go to the ‘meet market’.

What you are attempting to do is yell the loudest, in a visual sense, to the opposite sex. You are in a crowd of people all yelling the same thing. The goal is to score tonight! No long term stuff here.

If you are a woman, here is a question for you. What would separate you from the other women? Everyone has a hot outfit on, so what did you do to get the attention? Answer please? You would do the stripper dance, or a reasonable equivalent. This gets the attention of every guy in the club. If you had a hot friend that would do it with you, you had the pick of any guy in the place guaranteed!

Okay, let’s bring down the heat for a second and think how this relates to your network marketing prospects.

You essentially yelled the loudest with your ‘show’, and that you had the most ‘value’. The problem is, even if you had the attention, and your pick of the club that night, by the time morning came around, you did not have the same attraction.

You succeeded in the short term, but unless you were able to put on the same show 24/7, you were not likely to keep the person/prospect around for long.

This is what makes me laugh when I see people treating their network marketing prospects in the same way.

They get on Facebook for instance, and yell the loudest and make the case just like in the club. Gaudy claims of financial success with a minimal investment. Claims that they have quit their job and retired, but still need to recruit you on Facebook.

Problem is, shortly after the score, the prospect realizes the attraction was short lived. You have nothing but canned company videos to ‘train’ them with. Talk about waking up and seeing the person who looked hot in the club, only to look like they escaped the Houston Zoo.

That’s how network marketing prospects feel. Thats how I felt!

I was once one of those prospects, and I admit, before I knew better, I was putting on my best cologne and putting a potato in my pants to impress my prospects. It doesn’t work. Eventually you are exposed! And when I say eventually, I mean within a very short period of time.

Your network marketing prospects will want more from you, and when you can’t produce anything but company comp. plans and hypey claims, you are shot!

So what do you do? Here comes the bad news for those of you looking to get rich quick. You have to learn something. No, actually you need to master something. You need to know how to do something that will allow your network marketing prospect to move further and succeed.

You must learn a skill like PPC, or SEO. Learn something specific so you have something of value they need. Very quickly you will see that your knowledge of a skill, essential to your network marketing prospects success, becomes your ‘can’t miss cologne, or your potato in your pants, if you’re a guy. LOL
