I Was a Nightmare Prospect!

I like Mike Dillard am also fascinated by Psyhcology and how people tick. It is an integral part of our prospecting/sponsoring journey and I truly believe that to help others find out what they want we need to understand their NEEDS, WANTS etc. I am going to share with you my journey on how i found the buisness opportunity for me, and how i put the "sponsors" through the mill. Only 1 stuck it out.

I was Searching for the Buisness opportunity, I was new to Network Marketing - I was a willing candidate and knew others who were involved in different opportunities and it was working for them, I wanted something I believed in and would work for me.

My story was i needed an Extra income to help out with the bills, my husband was recovering from cancer, we had family, I had redundancy fears hanging ouver my head and i did not want to lose my income to the household.

I filled out plenty of contact pages and was NOT prepared for the bombardment of emails, phone calls letters, info packs, over the weeks i ploughed through them kept notes and eventually narrowed it down to 1 - so I concentrated on 2 "prostectives uplines".

they both appeared very nice on the surface however i was interested in their training, support network etc, to help ensure MY success, it became apparent 1 was there to HELP me succeed, and 1 was there soley for ME to help HIM succeed. How could i tell .

Well the 1st prospective upline was focusing on MY NEEDS AND WANTS, the 2nd was telling me all about HIM and his goal his dreams, what HE had achieved.....need i say more to be honest at that time i did not really care about his dreams and goals i wanted to know this would work for me, how it could work for me, what I would need to do to make it work for me. 1 was LISTENING 2 was talking and not LISTENING.

So they were both very keen to talk and work with me - then i hot them with the bombshell - I was not wanting to sign up there and then i was getting married and once i returned from my honey moon, I was willing to take it to the next step - What would you have done at this point?

1 - said congratualtions asked me where i was going and asked for anapporpriate date and time to phone me on my return.

2 - laughed and asked me if I was a "timewaster" - to which i laughed back and said NO,  I was quite serious - 2 said they would phone me on my return (he did NOT set a date)

On my retun from our honeymoon I checked my diary and sure enough 1 phoned at the given time and date.

We had a chat - made a plan and i signed up!

2 weeks later, i was on fire, I had already easily achieved the 1st two levels in the comp plan, the 2nd "prospective sponsor" phoned, ( i actually forgot all about him) did I ignore him - NO I spoke with him and told him I had already signed up and apologised for "wasting his time" did he wish me luck no... all I got was the dead sound of the phone!

Was I Really a Nightmare Prospect?

Kind Regards

Lisa
