Have You Ever Done This
It's Friday evening and you have been invited to your friends house. You are not sure why you are there but your friend seems excited about something. When you walk into the room there are 6 or 7 people sitting about, none with smiles on their faces. Over in the corner there is a table set up with about 20 different products on it. Then you notice the guy talking to your friend, he's the one with the constant smile, the salesman type. He is wearing a $2000 Armani suit and a Rolex watch. You start to think to yourself " how can I get out of here." Your friend welcomes you and asks you to sit down. The man with the perfect white teeth starts to talk. He spends 10 minutes talking about company management, 15 minutes on why he got involved with this particular company, 10 minutes on the company itself, then come the circles. 30 minutes later he is still talking about the compensation plan which you do not understand. Then he spends 20 minutes telling you how the products will grow back amputated limbs. You sit there bored to death wondering if it will ever end but then comes the paperwork. The man in the Armani suit tells you that you can make $1,000,000 in 6 months if you follow in his footsteps. Does any of this sound familiar to you? A presentation that takes over 1-1/2 hours and leaves you bored to death. What if that presentation could be condensed down to 2 minutes? What if your 2 minute story leaves your prospects begging for more information? The 2 minute story happens everyday for thousands of people. I don't know about you but I would be more than willing to listen for 2 minutes than I would for 1-1/2 hours. This is just my opinion for what it's worth.

Old school MLM tactics are for the birds
I'm right with you on this one Donnie. I haven't been to a gathering like that since 1997 and the company was Amway. It was this stigma that kept me FAR from the industry for years. Not that I didn't understand the potential to earn a large residual income, just that I didn't see many people I knew wanting to experience this kind of discomfort.
The way I approach network marketing is completely different. Friends and family know what I'm involved in and if they ask to join me I'm not going to say no, but I never force the issue. Instead I use online systems to attract people interested in joining me in a bit of online income stream building. No need for 1-1/2 long boring presentations and 2 minutes is just enough to get people to visit my site.
Thanks for sharing, you are not alone! ; )

Showing the plan
Donnie you are absolutely right, much rather listen for two mintues than an hour and a half. Two minutes is all you need ot make it or break it. They will either say it's for me or it's not
God Bless
First Impressions
Donnie, you hit on a point that most people don't even take into account.. First Impressions- It takes less than 2 minutes to make an impression on someone. It shouldn't take someone an hour+ to gain trust and confidence. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words
I wrote this after thinking back to my Amway and mu Melaleuca days. I started in Amway back in 1981 and felt like I was tricked into going to a presentation. I did join Amway but dropped out after my upline committed suicide in the back of his Porsche. It took me another 25 years and many companys before I finally found one that I am proud to a part of.
