How To Have More Success At Your Local Meetings

If you’re in network marketing you’ve probably attended or been invited to attend local network marketing meetings. And if you’ve been to any of these meetings you’ve probably seen some people have a lot of success and sign up a bunch of people in one night and you’ve probably also seen a lot of people frustrated because their prospect didn’t show up or they didn’t get anyone to sign up. In this article I’m going to be talking about how to get the most out of your local meetings so that you can be the person getting all the sign ups and making all the money.

The first thing you want to realize is that people are just plain flaky. So if you have 5 guests confirmed to show up there is a good chance you might only get 2 of them to actually attend. Sure there are times when you’ll get them all there but chances are it’s not going to happen. So go ahead and plan for it now. I have seen people who have 12 guests confirmed to come to a meeting and only 4 of them showed up… it’s the nature of the beast.

You can however do a few things to help with the high drop off rate.

First of all you’ll want to call all of your prospects to confirm that they’re attending the day of the meeting. Also, go ahead and give them a call if  they aren’t there when they are suppose to be. Some people simply have a hard time with directions or are just running a bit late so don’t freak out if they’re not there at 7:00 on the dot.

Go ahead and plan for people being late or not showing up. Once you are aware that this can happen you’ll be less shocked and annoyed by it.

Another way to have more success at your meetings to is to dress for success. Men, this means wearing a suit and tie. Women, this means wearing a suit or a professional looking blouse and skirt. When you look like someone who already has success people will want to do business with you. Never miss a chance to make a great first impression because you only get one shot at that.

Finally, never put your guest on the spot or embarrass them in any way. Let them blend into the atmosphere. Don’t make your guest stand up to announce themselves or parade them around as if you’ve never had a guest at a meeting before. Make them as comfortable as possible.
