Step 1: Your Survival Guide to Network Marketing
The times are changing fast and if you are still duking it out in the network marketing arena, here are some great tips that will help you survive and succeed within network marketing. First off, you will have to spend time researching your target market and target recruits.
You cannot survive in network marketing if you are just haphazardly recruiting and selling to anyone and everyone. So take a breath, sit down, and think about the profile of the person that you think will be an ideal recruit. Ideally, you will want someone who is comfortable with people and has some experience with sales. You'll want someone who is a good team player and has the potential to lead others. That means steering clear of recruiting too many "follower" types. Think about the jobs and hobbies that such a person might have. Maybe they coach a sports team, maybe they are a leader in a volunteer organization, maybe they are a self-starter at your church.
But you want more than just a certain psychological profile. You want someone who actually believes in and likes the products and/or services that you are promoting. They will not be an effective member of your team if they don't believe in what you are selling. This is where it is helpful to get your hands on some legitimate marketing data. What demographics buy your product and service? What demographics are repeated purchasers of your product and or service? If there isn't sufficient data out there on your exact product, then look up information on a comparable competitor. Some of the best prospects are also customers!
Congrats! You have completed step one and are well on your way to surviving in the world of network marketing. You've stopped selling to random family and friends, and are now directing your efforts towards people who will become repeat costumers and successful recruits.
