The Perdition of Being a Liar

Read More: Sponsoring and Recruiting

I'd like to thank the Academy of Better Networkers, all those well-meaning people who were looking out for me.

Although they seemed to be calling me a liar I know it was only their concern, their deep concern for me, that motivated them as they tried to keep me from
the eternal perdition of being a liar.

But their efforts were misplaced because in their haste to post such heartfelt replies, they didn't READ what had been written.

Perhaps they just heard what was resonating inside their own heads.

Please consider these highly possible exchanges between a Networker and a potential new member.

Prospect: "Is there any selling involved?"
You: "No."
This is a lie.

Prospect: "Must I sell anything?"
You: "No."
This is a lie.

Prospect: "Is this a sales business?"
You: "Yes."
This is a lie.

Here is the truth.

Network Marketing or MLM is a realtionship-buiding, teaching/coaching/mentoring/helping, personal-development, leadership-development, never-waver-in-believing-in-yourself business that entails the selling of a product or service, as all businesses do.

Without a product and the selling of it, there is no revenue and without revenue, how could the company pay bonuses and commissions?

If you doubt my description, please read Randy Gage's blog entry of August 14th.
He describes WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE IT and throughout it does not mention selling even once.

Randy, brilliant marketer that he is, has encouraged the circulation of this post.

The reason I personally de-emphasize selling and sales scripts is because it tends to contaminate people's mindsets. They frequently feel forced to put on a salesperson's voice and persona and they are immediately sunk. Done in. Shot in the foot. Dead in the water. Self-sabotaged.

In fact as soon as they open their mouth and sound like a salesperson, they have by default turned that eager and curious prospect into a SALES prospect
rather than a potential business partner.

If you'd like to learn more about how to sell withourt selling and how to apply this to your MLM business see below.

I'd also like to thank Mom & Dad, all my teachers and coaches, and of course my significant others . . . you know who you are . . . .

Wow this is Awesome

I see it just as you pointed out. If they read Magnetic Sponsoring
They would see this is not a selling business. Maybe they need to reread that book?

Totally agree.

I don't like selling, I don't like being sold. But I love Network Marketing for the chance it gives me to help other people reach their full potential.

Count how many people you've helped

If nobody buys your products.

You are a direct commission sales person for the company you are associated with. That is the ONLY way you get paid.
Can't help other people achieve their dreams unless they sell product. Spinning it that "all you need do is share your product with others" is just that - a spin so you don't have to use the word sell or sales.

Manipulative way to sell. Smart people figure that out.

Know, like and trust.

Spot on my friend! For me, if someone starts right off the bat blabbing about their company or product, my eyes glaze over and I am looking for the exit. We buy from people we know, like and trust.

Make New Friends And Treat Them As Gold

There is that song make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the others gold. We need to remember that old friends are sliver and the ones who we build know like and trust are gold!!!

Joyce, Thanks . . .

. . . for another perfect example of how people look but don't see or in this case read but don't see.

Here's what I wrote in the above article:

"Network Marketing or MLM is a realtionship-buiding, teaching/coaching/mentoring/helping, personal-development, leadership-development, never-waver-in-believing-in-yourself business that entails the selling of a product or service, as all businesses do.

Without a product and the selling of it, there is no revenue and without revenue, how could the company pay bonuses and commissions?"

And here's what you wrote:

"Manipulative way to sell. Smart people figure that out."

Figure what out?

Is the glass half empty or half full? That depends on what you SEE. And from what you wrote I know what you see. And don't see.

Thanks for contributing to the conversation.
