What a Hacker

Just because you say you’re successful doesn’t mean you are.

Of course the term successful can be left open to interpretation, but I think too many Internet marketers are nothing more than hackers. Let me explain.

This last Saturday my wife and I went out golfing (yes I am one of those lucky guys that has a wife that loves to golf). As we waited for our turn on the tee box, I watched the group ahead of us struggle to hit the ball 20 yards.

I knew it was going to be a slow day following this group.

Normally it drives me crazy following someone on a Saturday morning that obviously needed to be on the practice range instead of the course, but I found them quite amusing. The first guy would get up and wiff once or twice before hitting the ball somewhere off in the weeds to h

is left or right (never straight) and the second guy would get up and follow suit.

What caught my attention was the third player who got up was a woman (a girlfriend I’m guessing) and how both of the men were giving her pointers on how to hit the ball. That would be like me asking Charles Barkley how to golf (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you should check him out golfing on YouTube).

This is how I feel about many of you out there posing to be some kind of Internet marketing guru, and really you are nothing but a hacker trying to impress others on skills you haven’t acquired. It’s like the Geo Metro with the vinyl cut out that says, “Call me and I will show you how to make 100K.” Really?

Now I don’t profess to be that Internet guru (yet), but I am working my tail off to take the talents I have and the leadership skills I posses and make a difference. My success has been in corporate America and now I am expanding it into the world of Internet marketing. I know what my idea of success is, and it includes more than a dollar amount.

This is why Better Networker is such a great community to learn from. It’s much easier to find mentors here than out on the World Wide Web. Most of my mentors don’t even know they are mentoring me.

Someday Mike Klinger or Jason Better will know who I am, but for now, I’m glad I know them. Find a couple of mentors here and consume every word they say. And for all of you “hackers” professing to be something you are not, good luck, Karma has a way of finding you out.

Lead On,

Brendan Dalley

Great stuff

I agree that there are so many posers out there trying to be something that they are not. It's nice to be in a community that has a system to promote leaders/mentors. Thank you for all you do as well.

All us hackers have to start somewhere :)

I too think Better Networker is a great place to learn the skills you need for your business.

I would not believe everything I hear

So many Gurus say they will teach you how. And claim that they did it in 4 to 10 days. Get Real use common sense. Even the Biggest Money Makers teach a system systems are duplicatable people are not. 1st have them prove their system works. By showing you all the people that have duplicated their success using the system.
