While its very easy for us, being entrepreneurs, to look down on the concept of a job;
I would like to address something that has bothered me for a very long time about this industry...

Who The Hell Do We Think We Are?

Were we not all employees with a job at some point?
Were we not all "jobbers" when we were younger and just getting started?
Have we not all come from that place of punching a clock in exchange for a paycheck?

Were we all not graciously given the same gift of "opportunity" we so arrogantly wield today as the measure of man's worthiness to join our little club?

How did we become so arrogant and self righteous as an industry to think it's ok to talk down to or speak ill of people just because they have a 9-5 job?

We all start at start - there are no exceptions.
And this path of entrepreneurship is not for everyone - I don't care what anyone says to the contrary.

Turn the tables...

Do you feel good when you see the haters bash network marketing?
When Penn Jillette opens his smug, dim witted, slobbering mouth to bash the industry and make a mockery of it on national television... does that make you feel good?

Does that make you want to join his movement and get to know what he's about?

Or does it make you want to shove an ostriches ass down his throat?
(Not that I've given any thought to this... just sayin)

This negative campaigning towards the workforce must stop if we are to truly see this industry rise above the likes of slimeballs like Gillette and show the people that this is an authentic, legitimate means of bettering their finances and their life's station... If That Is What They Choose.

Do you honestly think your mlm company is impervious to economic hardship?
Do you really believe that your "opportunity" is beyond reach of a global monetary meltdown?
If you do, I strongly recommend you put the cool-aid down and snap out of it!

As long as we continue to demean having a job and earning an income the best way a person may know how at the time or treating it as some disease, we will doom ourselves.

Democracy and a free society prides it's self on an economy where just about anyone can go out and get a job, earn an "honest" living and take care of their families. Every time we talk down to that, we insult the very foundation of that core belief and "family values."

When you talk down to someone for having a job, you might as well kick them in the nuts.
Because that's what it feels like. Especially today when so many people are desperately cling to what little hope they have of job security so they can feed their kids and keep the heat on.

Lest we forget... entrepreneurs CREATE JOBS in a FREE economy?

I argue that we as entrepreneurs have been commissioned to not disempower the people, rather, we should lift them up. Lift their spirits. Give them hope. Show them that what we do is in deed not only good for us, but vital to the stability of the nation and a free society.

And while this may not be their path, they should be proud to support us in our role.
I don't see that today - but we must strive to see it come to being.

Bashing the way the average Joe earns an income just increases his distrust in the industry and more susceptible to be persuaded to use the power of his citizen vote to side with those that are our true enemy... banking cartels, shadow power mongers and those who seek to create a totalitarian society where you are nothing but cattle. Those that seek to destroy our inalienable right to a free market and entrepreneurialism as a whole.

They are your enemy... not the hard working citizen looking for honest leadership.
Let's give them that leadership.
Let's bring them the glory and the hope they are desperately yearning for.

You may or may not agree with me.
And I'm not going to attempt to tell you how to fix it in yourself.
You need to walk that road yourself.

I just wanted to get that off my chest.

PS:
I've been guilty of the very things I commented on.
My hope in this little rant is to jostle the philosophies that I've seen undermine
the true beauty and potential of what it is we have in our very hands...
It really is quite magical when you think about it.

Let's all commit to a higher standard, working together to present it to "the People" for what it is.
