Who’s Controlling Your Business?
Lead systems are great. They can give you access to a large number of people that will potentially be interested in your business.
Systems that help you work those leads are even better. For the right price, you can just sit back and let the system do its work, right?
While it is true that a guaranteed system that you are paying for will grow your business (hence the term guaranteed), is that really the best way to go? What are the other options?
What would happen if, in addition to the guaranteed system you actually worked the business yourself? What if you made at least a few phone calls to the people that are interested in learning more about your business? How much faster and bigger would you grow?
The answers to these questions are related to why you got into the business in the first place. Maybe you like the products and you just wanted to make a little extra money on the side. Then by all means let the system work. After all, it doesn’t matter how long it takes if you goal is only a little extra money.
But maybe a little extra money isn’t really enough. Maybe your goals are a little more ambitious. Maybe they are a lot more ambitious. Maybe waiting around for months on end for the automatic system to work just isn’t going to cut it for you.
How can you supplement the automated system? Do the math. Let’s say you are getting 25,000 leads on an individual basis. If they are good leads, you could expect at least a one percent response rate, which is 250 people. If there are even 10 other people using the same system that is 2,500 people to call. If there is a call center with five people and they can each make 50 calls a day (which may be generous), they are going to make 250 calls day. If ten percent (or one out of every ten) of those calls join the business, they will add 25 people to the company in a day (although they almost certainly will not all be added to your downline).
As the system guarantees, your downline will grow. But what would happen if you started calling too? Even if you could make 10 phone calls a day, that would be 50 phone calls a week and five more people in your business. Do that every week, and at the end of a month, you have 20 additional people, do it for a year, and you have 240. As you do more calling, you become more effective and you may get 10 people out of the 50 phone calls.
You can see how taking even a little responsibility for your own business can result in exponential growth. If you got into business to make serious money, you need to take your business seriously.
Pull the string, and it will follow wherever you wish. Push it, and it will go nowhere at all.
