Why Is My Home Based Business Failing?

You're so excited. You just started your own home based business with this "thingamajigger" (product/service) that you believe is 'totally awesome'. You just know everybody is going to want it, it's going to make you hundreds of thousands of dollars. You're told that this person so and so, who has never done anything like this before working only part time made all this money in no time flat.

You're asked, “If they can do that, think of what you can do"?
So, you're all in and ready to get started. They tell you to do exactly what the leaders do and that you can't fail.

You're told to make a list of at least 100-200 names of people that you know personally. They tell you everyone knows at least 1000 people before their 25 years old. Really, all you need is one or two super duper go getters and you'll be RICH.

They tell you to call your family and friends and say exactly this.... blah blah blah. Make sure you're smiling while you're talking to them, hold the phone a certain way, don't tell them why you're calling, just tell them it's "Very Important".

Avoid at all costs letting them know that it is network marketing, mlm or a home based business. It's for their own good; you don't want to tell them what it's about because it will do them a disservice.

Don't call them back to confirm any appointment, that is if you were able to schedule any, because they will cancel. Go ahead and get in your car, drive all over town, just to find out that they're a "NO SHOW". So you wait 15 or 20 minutes, finally call them, acting as though there's no problem that you were stood up by someone you thought cared about you, and guess what? They don't even answer the phone, as a matter of fact; to this day they still won't answer your call.

Now your told not to be upset that your best friend or family member is totally avoiding you. It is a numbers game and it's just one more "NO" closer to a "YES". It's all a part of the business, just keep doing this OVER and OVER again and eventually you will be RICH. (Eventually you become depressed,isolated,discouraged- not rich).

Even though you're doing all the things that you were told to do, it's still not working. You're told that it's because you need to be trained by the leaders themselves. Yes, that will do it. Now you're told to purchase tickets to a conference in (Egypt), where you will be trained by the Top Leaders. That's what leaders do, and if you're serious about making money from home you will go, no questions asked. They make you feel that if you don't go, then you must not be serious.

So now you spend more money on conference tickets and of course you have to buy plane tickets, book a hotel, pay for food while you're there (which is outrageous). You take off work, using your vacation time, hoping that one day you'll have all the vacations you will ever want. (The reason you joined in the first place is to make money, not spend it, right)?

Wow! You come back from the conference pumped up, super motivated and ready to start all over again. You go back through your names list and start calling the same people with new enthusiasm to try and book some appointments. You say the right things, you do the right things based on what you've learned at the conference and this time you book a few appointments. You're a believer once again. You start to picture your dreams becoming a reality. (This only lasts for a few days, you'll see why).

You have a few buy your "thingamajigger" or join your "team" only to realize that they quit before they even got started. You keep repeating this over and over until you realize that, it's still the "same ol same ol". You're depressed and discouraged, ready to quit too, but you think about your friends and family that made fun of you and told you it wouldn't work, that it was a scam,etc.. You won't let them get the last laugh.

You're bound and determined to make it work but you just don't know where to go or what to do. You don't understand why your home based business is failing. You've done exactly what they told you to do, with no real success.

Well, you're not alone. In my 30 years of experience in network marketing, mlm's, direct sales, whatever you want to call it, I did exactly what I just described with different "thingamajiggers". I thought if I just found the one product or service that it would make all the difference. I was thinking that it would change because of my "thingamajigger". That is where I got it wrong. It is not the product or the company.

I know it's hard to believe that anyone would settle for that, but it's true.

Secondly, you keep hearing in the business that it's a number's game and yet you have gone through your hot market, your warm market, your cold market and your ice cold market with no real success. So what do you do?

The Internet is loaded with millions of people who are looking to start a home based business, who are willing to do what it takes to work their business and who can afford to invest in a business. All you need to do, is figure out a way to introduce your product/service to those that are actually looking for it and are ready to buy it.

I know it sounds simple but beware; there are also thousands of so called "Internet Gurus" to watch out for.
