LEADERS ONLY: I Will Share With You How To Generate 15,000 Leads And Over $46k In Business Working 4 Hours A MONTH.
You better believe that it's ALL about the warm market...
-----> Here is the VIDEO version of the article <-----
Look, you can't please everyone and I've quit trying to a long time ago.
What I'm about to say may not *please* those that swear they'll never contact their warm market to build their MLM, but I suspect it'll give them something to think about.
If you're one of them... read on ;-)
First of all, let's establish what "warm market" means anywayz...
I think it's safe to say that by "warm market" we're talking about people that already know us, hopefully like and trust us.
Are we in agreement on that?
Ok, let's move on.
It's all about the relationship, or is it?
Well, It is.
The designation of how "warm," "cold," or "hot" a lead/prospect is is generally based on the intensity of the relationship and trust established with that person.
So when we talk about warm market we're typically thinking of family and friends.
Obviously we pretty much have a fixed number of family members, but we can continue to expand our circle of friends...
Right?
After all, we weren't born knowing all the friends we have today, were we?
Which drives home the point that it is pretty much ALWAYS about building a BIGGER WARM-MARKET.
Regardless how you're getting your prospects today:
- Offline, face-to-face, out and about (please, I'm not talking about 3-foot-rule pitching style. it's not very effective anywhere, on or off-line)
- Buying leads from lead stores
- Joining a team advertising co-ops
- Generating your own on or offline (this includes "attraction marketing")
it's about building a better relationship with the people you're in contact with.
And by "in contact" we're talking about e-mailing, Facebook-ing, talking on the phone, sitting down over a cup of coffee, a hotel meeting... whatever.
So often we get sucked into a scenario described in a salesletter thinking that's EVERYONE's experience.
Except it's not.
If you're actively building a business today, and are seeking to really grow your business to the level to which you know you can lead...
Then I'd say help those on your team understand, with clarity, what they are EXPECTED to do.
Most people want to be led (laziness and fear of failure, and yes I have to consciously battle these human flaws myself), so we be the leader and lead with clarity and a high level of ethics.
Help them look beyond the marketing in the salesletters, and should they choose to buy a training product, learn what they can, apply it, and just move on.
Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg are both in my warm market.
Yes, we've developed solid relationships over the past 2 years.
Are they going to join my business?
Potentially.
I've used the same principles I abide by to connect with just about anyone I want to...
building a huge, influential circle of warm market contacts...
I'm not going to sponsor everyone, though.
In fact, I don't have to, nor do I want to (some people are pretty high maintenance
).
But the message here is that building relationships correctly is the key.
You better believe the same gurus whose sales letters say to NOT contact your warm market are making most of their money from their own warm market contacts.
They're sitting at a place called their e-mail list
.

Great post Jerry
I know to do effective copywriting the strategy is to a create an us against me scenario but the "Never talk to your warm market again" headlines are really ludicrous.
Anyone you know is in your warm market. Anyone you meet comes into your warm market.
Finding another type of Us vs We is something I'm working on and it won't be to put down the warm market approaches.
Great article. Enjoyed reading it.
Joyce
Joyce
Hey - I think you meant Us vs. Them? But I got the point. It's an effective strategy for sure. And that's exactly why the untrained mind needs to be "notified" ;-)
You and Me Both Jerry
Big thumbs up from me ... people do business with people full stop!
As always, excellent information Jerry
You are absolutely right Jerry
And I can't even go back and edit it ! Yes the scenario is Us vs. Them not We as originally written.
Thanks for catching that Jerry.
Joyce
Great Post!
Thumps up! this is an awesome post.
Warm Market Misunderstandings
Hi Jerry,
Terrific post. I agree that most big Network Marketing leaders got to where they are because of warm market. Anyone who is initially "cold" MUST be transformed to "warm" before you can move them to a point of even considering your business or products. And yes, the email list is a terrific modern method of building massive numbers of relationships with people who were at one time "cold" to the list owner. People do business with people they know, like, and trust. That can only happen when a relationship is established. :)
Bottom Line
There is an old saying that who cares what market the name is if you are not relationship driven no matter how well managed your company is and no matter how excellent your products are you will either become broke or struggle to keep your head over water.
Lawrence Bergfeld
And if you are relationship driven no matter how bad your products are and no matter how bad is company management you will be successful in your business because you exhibit those leadership traits and relationship characteristics by making the effort to understand what people want and helping them.
Building Relationsips Correctly
Great post Jerry! The last 6 months I have been learning how to build relationships correctly and the learning is a continual process. I feel as leaders we have to find what works for us, then practice and teach.
Thank you
Building relationships
Jerry, thanks so much for the great post. Warm market and relationships are the key to your business.
True True
Jerry, thank you for sharing that information. I agree 100%. No matter what business you are in it is All about the warm market.
Clear message
@Mary Lou, @Lawrence, @Jennifer, @Sharon and @Ernest - Thanks for your feedback. It's really a matter of "perspectives" and while it's great to use "marketing" to generate leads and sales, I believe the perspective delivered in this article is going to have a lasting impact on any leader's long term success.
Oh, please VOTE, TWEET or FACEBOOK this article if you find it useful. Spread the message so others can benefit from it, too!
More than one warm market
Great article, Jerry. Being active in the MLM industry, we surely have a "bigger warm market" to consider. Great concept.
Thanks!
yes ! very true
yes, like of what i have said awhile ago in one of the topics here, even you are just started in the business or a leader you've got to have that special connections with people, equipped with a strong personality but be able to show concern with the people around you, based on my experience a relationship built in harmony really does wonder in every community. we are the one creating our group and our attitude breaks or make us.
Expectations...
Jerry, I agree that we need to make sure that our new people understand what the expectations are and How they can attain them. Working with them, is so important, helping them with Their Success, makes success for everyone...law of Nature!! When following up on leads, I try not to be "tied" to the outcome, I do the process and work with those who are Truly Interested otherwise it can be a time waster and cause alot of frustration.

I Needed to "Hear" This
Jerry,
This article was right on time. I am doing a video series on "Doing Business With Friends" and had this issue of the warm market heavily on my mind. Personally, I had gotten frustrated with "the list" and wondered if a "happy medium" could be found. But, you have answered that question and I guess I already knew it, but it was nice to have it presented as you have here.
The cold MUST become warm...Got it!
Kellie Gardner
Well said Jerry.
Couldn't of said it better myself. Thanks for sharing your views.
Cheers Dale Athay.
Good clarity
Great to read your article. Its just a shame that with a lot of mlms theres to much enthesis on the products and the compensation plan at meetings and not enough information on how to get your potential clients from cold to hot.To much of the blind leading the blind.
Sorry if this offends some people, but i like to call it as it is.
Finally...
Finally you put it to rest.
There is no way around working with a warm market. Even the people we generate sooner become our warm market.
Thanks buddy for a great read and settling this once and for all.
Jerome Ratliff
Great Article!
This is a great article. My warm market is my family. They are waiting to see what I am up to next. I am in this for the long haul. I am getting healthier every day. As they can see and as I meet new people to gather into my warm market. Thanks for the information.
Without A Strong Relationship You Get Nowhere
It does not matter how long you have known someone for. If you do not have a strong relationship with that person you get nowhere.
Good post Jerry
Big topic for sure.
I've noticed from my 54 years on earth
that the vast majority of families are
dysfunctional ..including much of my own.
I think when many think warm market it's
their direct families they think of.
When I have run in to someone that says
..oh my parents or my brothers and sisters
or uncles or aunt will support me because I'm
family...I'm always surprised.
I successfully blew my family and friends
out of any possibility of doing anything
with me FOR LIFE...back in the 90's with my
Amway business.
I don't blame them but my up line
said make a list and contact them.
So being a huge guy anyway with a UFC
type attitude...before self help I
pretty much either scared them in
or really scared them out..forever.
I know...nothing like advertising my
ignorance but it's because of guys like me
...IN THE PAST...that many will not
contact their warm market.
I suggest to new folks to really think
about getting some training first since many
folks come in like me in the beginning
...which I was "ignorance on fire."
Personality type is imporatant to recognize
and I studied that to know the difference.
Look ..when you are a hammer ..everything is a nail.
That was me...but I'm fixed now.lol
Anyway so blame Nicholas that you can't
get to your warm market.
I have big shoulders.
Getting Warmer
Nice article, I liked your spin on the Cold vs Warm market. I think its safe to say that we have to almost ditch our entire warm market of family and friends; but not entirely. And just focus on the cold market. But with Social sites and other new marketers popping up it makes finding potential prospects easier to target, and turning some of them into Hot buyer's or followers of your work. Nice article Jerry
Let's keep this message alive.
Hey @Joyce, @Gale, @Abdullah, @Mary Lou, @Lawrence, @Jennifer, @Sharon, @Ernest, @Nancy, @Teresita, @Bev, @Kellie, @Dale, @Malcolm, @Jerome, @Mario, @Nicholas and @Steven -
Thanks for coming by and sharing your thoughts.
Let's do our best to keep this video on front page of BN.
I feel compelled to share this message because there's simply so much confusing messages as far as marketing out there people in the industry are confused!
It's time to get back to the basics and common sense :)
Right Again Jerry!
Jerry is right on the money, yet again!
I was totally one of those people who said NO WAY to anything warm market related- but recently (well, let's be honest- thanks to a conversation we had) I changed my tune.
Not because I'm going to try to get my family and friends to join my business, but because I realize that my "warm market" is far more than that...
Great job!
Natasha
PS Speaking of Warm Market....Do you keep your "options open" Jerry? How do you feel about Gold & Silver coins? LOL :p
Natasha
Good to have u come by.
Isn't it so true that we're ALL in Dillard's "warm" market, being on his list and all ;)
Hi Jerry, Firstly, thanks
Hi Jerry,
Firstly, thanks for the great post.
I think you nailed it with your article. When most people hear of "warm market", the first thing that comes to mind is family and immediate friends (most of whom are unqualified, ie, not interested in any way in building a business).
What you say does make a lot of sense. We need to form a solid relationship with anyone before we can do any business with them, in essence, making them part of our warm market. I think the issue is making people realize that "warm market" is not just about immediate family.
I like Lawrence Bergfeld's comment too.....even if you have bad products, you can sell if you have good relationships with your customers.
Thanks for the wonderful post.
