Stop recruiting for your business!
Recruiting seldom works. Have you ever introduced your business opportunity to someone, conveyed the plan details with your excitement and enthusiastic belief that that it could dramatically improve their lives – they joined you and then………..and then…………and nothing – they did absolutely nothing?
Have you ever enrolled a huge front line of excited distributers to your team, only to find that their excitement quickly waned and you were left with an organization only a couple levels deep for all your efforts?
It’s a numbers game your up- line tells you – go recruit more people and you’ll eventually find just the right ones that will explode your business! Wrong! Regardless of how incredible your product, compensation plan, and the energy to put into recruiting more people – you risk having the same results.
Why? This is likely a combination of three factors – the first your sponsor may have touched upon that you “recruited” the wrong people - you could give them a gold mine, the labor force and the proper tools to extract the precious treasure – and they’d still manage to spend most of their time complaining or asking for help but doing little themselves – congratulations – you now have another baby-sitting job – not a business partner.
Secondly, expecting each of the “newbies” you introduced your opportunity to- to duplicate your efforts and obtain the same results is simply unrealistic, considering that most only sign up two or three people and feel they’ve done their job and some do nothing. The reason your organizations growth quickly slows, and eventually flat-lines – is that the excitement to your new member diminished and you have no rapport with those he introduced into your organization, or doubt crept in and everyday concerns overtook his temporary excitement and focus. For this reason I say recruiting will kill your business!
You should be “Sponsoring” and not “Recruiting”! What’s the difference? A recruiter is out there bringing in new members and may as well be in retail sales where he’ll make more money because he’ll only receive the entry bonus for prospects having joined. A sponsor, however, makes the new member their highest priority and does everything necessary to help them get started immediately!
A sponsor then works with each of their new partner’s people to develop rapport, determine their goals and help them get started and makes sure they understand that the opportunity is not a hobby – but is a serious business and that the results of growth is directly determined by the amount of effort they put into it.
A sponsor provides their new member and business partner with the appropriate tools and techniques to help them continue achieving results – not with headhunting but with sharing the program and developing relationships.
How well do you know the last guy that joined your business? What’s his wife’s name? Any kids? Share one of his experiences that you can relate to? What goal did he expect to achieve or challenge to overcome with your opportunity?
How well do you know those on the second and third levels of your program? Do you wait until you see that nothing is happening before you take the initiative to introduce yourself and your willingness to help them?
You may have “sleepers” in your business right now that with a little help and even limited results will again remember the excitement that surrounded the day they joined and the possibilities of the opportunity shared! Quit reading this post and give them a call.
Wishing you continued growth and success with your business – Take care - Tim
