This article is meant as a word of encouragement to anyone who is struggling to find their way and feel like nothing is ever going to happening. I’ve been there and I’ve been tempted to give up too. But I keep fighting on and keep moving forward because of the things I’ve learned while in the midst of the struggle. These things have strengthened me to a point were giving up isn’t an option anymore. Were success is the only thing I’m focused on. By going thru it, I’ve learned these lessons which I want to share with you. By going thru it I’ve built up the inner me. By going thru it I know I’m that much closer to getting to it.

First of all, you have to look at life (or your business) as a journey. A trip to some exotic locale which we’ll call "Success Island". Success Island is a far off location that’s going to take some effort, planning, and TIME to get to. Lets say Success Island is 750 miles away. Well no matter what type of attitude you set out on your journey with... It’s still 750 miles away. Unless you know how to be magically transported, then you have to make the journey. You have to, so you might as well enjoy the ride and learn as much as you can on the way. Being positive helps lift up the others around you who are also making the journey. Their uplifted spirits will in turn lift yours. Remember you’ll get back exactly what you put in.

I like to look at my journey as a book sometimes, and you can’t judge the whole book by the chapter you’re in right now. You have to keep reading. The good stuff always happens at the end of the book. The couple always gets together, or the hero always saves the day. See what I mean? You have to go thru it to get to it.

There is a reward for being diligent. There is a reward for persevering. There is a reward for earning your stripes. There is a reward for having a resolve to succeed NO MATTER WHAT. It would be nice if the reward came first, but it doesn’t work that way. Sorry. You have to earn them. Rewards and prizes always come at the end of the "event". You have to go thru it to get to it.

I don’t know if you’re religious like me, but there is a verse in the bible that says "For we walk by faith...". It doesn’t say stand by faith. It means that you need to keep going and stay productive, and not stand around waiting. Have faith, believe in yourself and keep moving forward, because you have to go thru it to get to it.

The best piece of advice I can give you is to FOCUS ON WHERE YOUR GOING and NOT ON WHAT YOU’RE GOING THRU. If you focus on your goals and dreams, or on Success Island, then nothing you’re going thru now will matter. You’ll just do it because its all part of the process of the journey. You’ll have your eyes on the big picture, and the bigger the picture the bigger the prize. Again, its all part of the process. The quicker you get that ingrained in your way of thinking the easier this journey gets.

Every journey has three parts (parts of the process):

         1. The beginning (when your excited about your new vision),
         2. The middle (when you’re on the long road and there’s nothing around, nothing happening),
         3. The end (Success Island).

You don’t want to look back on your life and say you gave up when it mattered most, do you? When you were almost to the end. When Success Island was just across the bridge.

I hope this has been an encouragement for you to keep fighting and moving forward. You will get there if you keep moving forward. I promise you that, and I know at some point you’ll be lounging with a cold drink on the sands of Success Island.

God Bless

Success Island sounds good!

Thank you for reminding us to keep looking forward.  The past is in the past, there's nothing we can do about it in the future, but learn from it.  It's human nature to always bring our past into our present... & most of us have been guilty of doing that (I know I have).  We have to always remind ourselves that what is going to shape our future is what we do in the present... no matter what our past has been.  There's this quote that I just love, it sums it up perfectly:  "Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair; it's something to do; but it takes you nowhere."
