Taking Advantage of Free SEO Training - Who Say's It's Just For Geeks?

So you've all heard about Ferny and Ray's SEONetworker course. (if you haven't then perhaps you should get online a bit more). And I know many of you will have entered the competition in an effort to win a free scholarship. I certainly did. I didn't win the scholarship, but boy did I win something else.

See, the free training they posted on that site was more than enough to get people started and just getting started already gives you a huge advantage over your competition, because most folks never get round to starting! And that includes yours truly I'm sad to say.

Now you all probably know me as the mastermind behind The Insider Report, (omg, I still get a kick out of saying that, lol), which basically means I managed to persuade several of the best members of Magnetic Sponsoring to spill their guts on what they learned from the course. And yes, I used that report to generate hundreds of leads for myself, before educating them on the benefits of getting Magnetic Sponsoring for themselves.

But the true purpose of creating and putting together the report wasn't just to generate leads. I really believe in the power of MS and I wanted to stop other folks from being put off buying it, because of the hype that surrounds it. I lost out on months where I could have been using that training simply because I thought it was more of the same old BS.

The Insider Report was always meant to be a first step, the aim was always to create a site, and then one day a forum. Someplace where the newbies could learn first hand that it was real, that no matter where you were starting from, Magnetic Sponsoring has something to offer you. But of course, I never got round to creating a website, or a forum. I just put up the capture page, then moved on to other things.

Then along came Ferny and Ray's competition. Wow, rocket time! A size 12 boot up the backside to get me into action. So off I set to create an actual website. Bear in mind this is still me, the technophobe so creating a whole site that linked together, let alone was SEO'ed was a big challenge.

The only SEO infomration I had came from the free training on their website. And I didn't even put all of it to use. Timing isn't great for me right now, but then when is it ever right for anyone?

Yet, with so little effort that website is now ranking on the first page of Google for some cool keywords including - magnetic sponsoring training - and I haven't promoted this site, I haven't done any 'digging' or 'stumbling'. Just took some very basic SEO steps from some very cool guys. :)

You can check out the site for yourself to see just how basic this stuff is. But the point is this.

It doesn't matter how 'new' or 'technically challenged' you are. SEO isn't just for geeks. It's for absolutely anyone. And yes, the site has a long way to go, but I'm working on it.
