So you've just created a website for your new online business.  You are so excited to market your products to prospective clients.  You know that you've got excellent products and services that many people need because you did your market research.  You have an opt-in form on your website so people can find out more about your products.  What do you do with the contact information from the people who respond?

Remember that business is about relationships and that people do business with someone who they know, like and trust.  So you want to brand yourself and develop a relationship with your prospective clients.  You want to show them how your products or services will meet their needs.  Sending autoresponders is the best way to build a relationship with your prospects and your clients.  Autoresponders are emails that are automatically sent to individuals who sign up on your website (opt-in leads).

Use double opt-in email campaigns to confirm that the individual actually signed up to your subscriber list.  Once someone signs up to your list, another email will be sent to them verifying that they signed up.  They will click on a link to confirm their interest in finding out more about your products.  They will also receive a link to unsubscribe from your list if they are not interested.

Your email campaign will brand you by introducing your prospects to you, your products and services.  You want to them to discover that you are the leader who will meet their needs.  This is where your market research will come in handy.  The more you know about your target market, the more you can tailor your emails to their needs and concerns.  Focus on how your products and services will relieve their pain.

As people discover how you can relieve their pain, they will purchase your products and services.  Know that as they do so, you are creating a profitable online business.
