Why Automation is necessary for a home based business opportunity:
This is something that is absolutely non-negotiable. Our world has been taught incorrectly. Every professional job that I have had listed multi-tasking as one of the keys to success. In a way that is accurate if you consider that your everyday life consists of family life, business, life, social life and that they are all somewhat blended together with a myriad of tasks. However, that currently means that YOU PERSONALLY need to address issues when they arise in your day. When in fact, you just need to give people reassurance that you will take care of it.
This is similar in business, you simply need to acknowledge that you are going to attend to something, and as long as you do attend to it in a timely fashion your customer will be none the wiser that your customer.
Think of an airline ticket. As long as you get updates via email of your upcoming itinerary, you don’t care what work needs to get done as long as the you have your seat when you get there. The same is true for Internet home businesses. Below are a few of the things that can easily be done to make your home based business opportunity more automated to give the appearance that you are at the beckoning call of your customers why you are enjoying the beach.
First, set up auto-responders on your email and website. I know it sounds a bit impersonal to have an auto-responder send a message to incoming inquiries, but you do like to get your confirmation emails for purchases immediately don’t you? This principle holds true for everything. A simple email saying, “Thank you for your inquiry you will receive a response by X:XX on XXX,XX regarding this issue, if this is an emergency that simply cannot wait, please contact XXX-XXX-XXXX.” This will keep you from spending most of your day on your inbox and you can set aside time periodically to respond to emails within your time parameters. This is a very simple step that will keep you focused on the job of growing your legitimate home business.
Next, give people information about your business as often as you can. I am not saying that you should shove advertisements down people’s throats, but reminding them of what you do is not a terrible thing. Again, the key here is to automate this. Think of an ad in a magazine. It is produced once by the creative group yet copied potentially millions of times without doing any extra work – handing out flyers is a dead business. The art comes with doing it so that you are providing value and people don’t feel like they are being sold. For example, a restaurant in Manhattan could send out coupons or reminders for happy hour or dinner specials periodically to all its followers on a social media site. At the same time, they could intermittently send out new recipes or wine pairings or other information that will attract people to material the restaurant is putting out. This achieves 2 things: 1) it increases your brand awareness from the number of times your name is in front of them 2) They will read your ads because they appreciate what you have to say. With as little work as 15 minutes a day all of this can be streamlined and automated for months at less than the cost to produce and distribute a box of flyers.
