How To Share Your Screen on Skype

If you are a team builder or team leader then sometimes you will need to explain things to your team members over the web using Skype Screen sharing hence enabling you to visually show them the steps that you would under normal circumstances desperately trying to explain.

There are various online and desktop online screen sharing tools available, if you have Skype already installed then that is the best solution and tool that you have which will serve the purpose.

Step # 1 Download Skype:

In order to be able to use this function you will need to first download and install the Skype software on your computer. This is free of charge.

Step #2: Connect With Contacts

The next step is if you are already linked up with people on Skype, then under your contacts click on the person that you want to communicate and share you screen with.  You are not able to share your screen with any random person, it has to be a person that you are connected with via your Skype Contact List. Once you have chosen your conversation partner, call them and either via the Menu button on the top left of your Skype screen you can go to:

Call ==>>Share Your Screen ==>> Share Full Screen

  Alternatively under the picture of your conversation partner you will see a navigation board the two squares lapping each other is the Share Icon which you can use also to share your screen.  This is next to the Video Icon. You also have the alternative of call your conversation partner using the share button which will ask you if you want to Share Your Screen – Click OK and you are already sharing your screen. Screen sharing is available in Mac and Windows operating systems.  Apparently it does not work with the Panther (Mac OS X 10.3) installations, but again this may have in the meantime changed.
