Switching to EMR ( electronic medical records) software
If you are a Physician or own a medical facility and your office is still using paper medical records, you might want to start thinking about switching over. Those days of shuffling through papers is finished. EMR(electronic medical records) is the wave of today and the future. I'm not speaking about a new trend kind of wave. EMR(electronic medical record)software is about to be mandatory for every Physician and medical facility in the U.S. That's right. There was a window of two years spurred by Obama's administration providing economic stimulus funding for purchasing EMR software. Now clinicians are rushing to take advantage before Jan. 1, 2011, when the money kicks in. But I said "mandatory". That's right. Physicians must start using EMR(electronic medical record) systems to process all their patient data by 2014. Also, there are strict conditions for physicians and medical facilities to take advantage of the new stimulus package referring to EMR software packages. Included in those conditions is 80% usage while purchasing a federally approved package. Everything starts on Jan. 1, 2011. However, you must remember which is needed for the required 80% usage rate which is to be obtained by the Obama-mandated deadline. The Stimulus bill, which has been renamed as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is supposed to make the use of Electronic Medical Records universal by 2015. Up to 90% of U.S. Physicians will be fully invested in EMR by then. Their pay will be reduced if they are not using EMR software by that year. In the months of autumn 2010 and January 1, 2011 it is expected to resemble a "mad house" as Physicians and Hospitals surry to take advantage. So the time started last year in 2009 and continues now in the begining of 2010, for Physicians to potentially exploit this opportunity. Maple Consulting is a provider of federally approved EMR software and if your a Physician looking to increase patient volume then review their Continued Care Program.
