The Attitude of Gratitude...
Embrace it!

I am so grateful for so many things in my life!  I believe with all my heart that being grateful for what we already have will bring about more abundance and joy.  No matter how rough you think things are for you, there is someone who is hurting more.  Even if you don't have a roof over your head, you should feel so grateful for your health, people that you love in your life and your belief that you will be okay.

It is so easy today to get caught up in the spirit of lack.  That simply means that we are focused on all the things we want and need rather than the things we have that are so important.  What we focus on will grow.  If you are worried about not paying the bills, you will always have that worry.  Stop worrying about having to pay it and find a solution to provide for the amount you need.  If you worry about a test or project at school or work, think about how you're going to feel when you have achieved the ultimate goal.  Think success not failure.  Just that one step can change how you think about all the important areas of your life.  It's not what happens to us, it's how we react that will make all the difference in the world.

The definition of grateful, according to Webster: the state of being thankful or appreciative of benefits or kindness  Now how hard can that be?  Every morning when I wake up, I think of five things to be grateful for that bring joy and peace into my life.  Starting my day that way makes it really hard for someone or something else to rain on my parade!  I have always believed that if you didn't appreciate what you had and be truly grateful, then what difference would it make if you had more?  Trust me, that is really how things are.  If you open your heart to accept what you now have, the more you can expect.

Notice what goes on around you on a daily basis.  How many times a day do people gather in small groups and what do they talk about?  How many references to something negative or depressing will you hear?  Think about yourself and what you say and how you communicate your thoughts to others.  I have made a serious effort to "Think before I speak"  It has really made a difference in the people around me as well and I am so glad to use this as a positive way to change my environment.  So, the next time you hear someone complaining about their lousy job, put a smile on your face and think how lucky that person is to have a job.  Do you know someone who needs a job and how grateful they would be?

Your attitude is one of the most important assetts you have.  Handle it with care.
Embrace the attitude of gratitude!
