The Average Joe's 3 Step Guide to Choosing the Right Internet Opportunity

Ok, so I am not your typical young Internet guru who speaks fluent HTML and had a million dollars in the bank by the time I was 25. 

I don't know about you but I found this to be one of the most intimidating things about getting into an Internet Marketing business.  Everywhere I looked there were all of those guys out there that had already made it to the top.  Was there really a place for somebody like me? Of course there was!

There is a place for all of us who are determined and willing to take the time to find out what is truly important and essential to Internet success.  So don't let those guys intimidate you - it is just a stereotype.  The fact is - those guys are really far and few between and there are lots of everyday people, just like me, that have the capacity to be unbelievably successful on the Internet - if it is done the right way.... So, what is the right way? I consider myself to be somewhat of an expert on the "right way" and I got there by making just about every mistake that a newbie can make.  We do indeed learn through our mistakes. Over the years, I have been convinced that I was going to get rich by selling overpriced lotions and potions.  I have literally harassed my family and friends.  And of course, I have gotten involved with companies that had payment plans that were so complicated that I couldn't even come close to understanding them, let alone try to explain them to a stranger on a cold call.
And yet, with all of these failures under my belt, I still had this gnawing feeling that there really were good opportunities out there - I just needed to figure out exactly what components were necessary to find the one that I could be successful at.  Recently, I was lucky enough to stumble upon my very first true Internet Marketing mentor and that is when it started to become clear and I came to understand the three things that were absolutely crucial for the typical person, like me, to succeed on the Internet and I want to share them with you. One, you need to become part of a team that has Mentors who have not only shown some level of success in their Internet ventures but who truly care and are willing to teach you the principles that are necessary to succeed in ANY Internet Marketing business - not just their Internet Marketing business.  Companies tend to come and go BUT if you are armed with the necessary knowledge, you won't be completely dependent on the ongoing success of any individual company or group you decide to work with, but rather, you will be prepared to make any of your ventures successful. Two, you need to become part of a company or team that is offering an opportunity that REALLY makes sense to you and that you can believe in.  If they offer a product, it needs to be a product that you would not hesitate to buy AND that is priced at a price that you would be willing in pay.  In other words, it isn't just a money making scheme disguised as a company that is selling a good product.  The same goes for a company or group that is offering a service or an opportunity.  Be absolutely sure that it is something that you can get excited about and are willing to stand behind.  If it isn't, your prospects will know it and they will avoid you like the plague. Three, you need to become involved with an opportunity that has a payout that makes sense and is obtainable to everybody and not just the guys who come into the company with a list of thousands of people that has taken them years to build.  Make sure you fully understand their payment structure and are able to explain it in no more than a minute or two.  Do NOT be lulled into a false sense of security by your would-be sponsor promising you that they will place one, ten or even one hundred people under you.  In some payment structures, it doesn't matter if your sponsor places a thousand people in one "leg" of your down line because unless you can build your other "leg" in a similar fashion, you will never benefit from those people that he/she placed under you. Make sure you have gotten real answers to these questions:  What will it take for me to get back my investment and about how long will that take?;  What will it take for me to get to my desired income and how long will it take? 
Ask your sponsor how much they allocate to their monthly advertising budget, how much they are bringing in on a monthly basis and how long it took them to get there.  Find out if the company has reasonably priced coops that you can join to get you started and if they have suggestions as to how you can do other low cost or free advertising.  If they are using leads, find out exactly how much these leads cost and what kind of conversion they are seeing per hundred leads.  This will help you in determining how much you need to invest in leads to get a certain amount of payback or income.   It is essential that you really know what you are getting into so you can make an intelligent decision as to whether this opportunity is going to allow you to achieve your financial goals.
