THE COMFORT ZONE

Anonymous

I used to have a comfort zone

Where I knew I could not fail;

The same four walls of busy work

were really more like a jail.

I longed so much to do the things

I'd never done before.

But I stayed inside my comfort zone,

and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter,

that I wasn't doing much;

I said I didn't care for things

like diamonds, furs and such.

I claimed to be so busy,

with the things inside my zone...

But deep inside I longed

for something of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by,

just watching others win;

I held my breath and stepped outside

to let the change begin.

I took a step, and with a strength

I'd never felt before,

I kissed my Comfort Zone goodbye

and closed and locked the door.

If you are in a Comfort Zone,

afraid to venture out,

Remember that all winners were

at one time filled with doubt.

A step or two and words of praise

can make your dreams come true--

Go greet your future with a smile;

success is there for you!

Nancy, I love it!!!!! Do you

Nancy, I love it!!!!!

Do you write other poems. This is so great!  So many people do just settle, don't they? It's too bad.  I love the adventure I've found with network marketing. I'm always learning something new and I'm like a kid. I get all excited about it and talk on and on about it to whomever will listen to me. (my poor husband).

I'd love to read more poems if you have them.

I know you wrote that

Hi Nancy I thought I posted on this the first time I read it!  I know you wrote it.  Having talked to you personally it suits you, in a most excellent way.  I hope others read it too.. Personally I love poetry, because of not just the words and meaning, but the intellect shown by those who can successfully write a cohesive story within the constraints of rhyme and meter.  Not that's a command of ones language.  very well done.
