The Most Profitable, Under Valued, Least Talked About Skill that Will Absolutely Revolutionize Your Life and Network Marketing Business!
I am sure you are ready to read some story about this new market tactic or recruiting strategy that will absolutely blow your mind. But I am actually going to tell you a story about me! A Story that involves losing tens of thousands of dollars, heartbreak, lost opportunities, and most importantly, a lesson that will save you years of wasted time.
The story starts with me graduating high school. There was less than a month left of school and I had no idea of how I was going to make money over the summer before I started school in the fall. In my high school there is a job board where companies post openings. My friend happened to see an ad as we passed by that said, “Summer work, earn 17.50 per appointment!”
WOW!!!! 17.50!!! I’ll be RICH! Forget making 6.50 an hour at the local shoe store! I’m getting paid this summer I thought to myself!
I pull out my phone and call the number right away! They asked me some basic questions and scheduled an interview for me.
The interview happened to be on the same day as my birthday…this day would change my life forever!
The day of the interview I was pretty excited! I kept thinking how 17.50 an hour would seriously change my life. I would buy that car I always wanted. I could go on some cool vacations. I could basically call my own shots!
After school I headed straight to the interview at 4 pm. I walked into the waiting room to find out the interview was a group interview. Slowly but surely the room filled out with people looking to chase the same thing I was…17.50 an hour!
Once the room was full, a young guy walked in the room dressed in a suite and tie. Start his presentation stating that most people in this room would not quality for the position. He went in a presentation and eventually went on to explain that this was not an hourly position, but a 100% commission independent contractor position. At the time I had no idea and more importantly, I really didn’t care! All I saw in that room that day was an opportunity to make some money! That is all I cared about!
I was always a hard worker so this should be easy I thought. This was the beginning of my sales career. More importantly, it is where I learned the most profitable skill anyone can have in business.
Once you accepted the position you had to go through a three-day training class. On my first day in class, the instructor introduced the top two sales people in the company. They were both a little older than me. They said if there was one thing we need to know about being successful it was this: “Don’t Think, Just Work!”
At the time, I blew off this lesson. I figured they had some secrets that they weren’t sharing. So when the training class had a break, I approached these two guys. Asked them, “What is your secret?”
They look at each other and rolled their eyes.
The number one sales person said bluntly, “Buddy, there is no secrets. We just work.”
Looking back on this lesson from these top producers, I realize the importance of this now more than ever! Network Markers look everywhere for answers. They become so lost in the search for the “Secrets to success” they forgot the most important less of life.
Focused Effort!
If there is one thing in my life that had always been a challenge it is focusing on what truly moves my business forward.
When I was a sales representative for my first company I learned that I made money doing three things: Making phone calls to set appointments, Doing Presentations, and Getting Referrals.
That’s it! One, Two, and Three. Very easy to follow and make money!
In network marketing it is the same exact thing: Generate leads, see if they qualify, give them information, and finally collect a decision!
It’s really that easy.
The challenge is people want to learn every detail of every other so-called “guru’s” business. The reality is marketing is easy. The challenge is no one focuses on learning the principles of marketing. They are just too busy trying to reinvest the marketing wheel. In turn, they waste years of their lives search for some secret to figure it all out.
At the end of the day, the most profitable, less talked about skills is having focus action! Knowing exactly what you have to do for your business on a day-to-day basis to make money!
Not focusing my efforts has literally cost me ten of thousands of dollars. When I started investing in real estate, I was truly going in 100 different directions! I was running a construction business, building a network marketing business, and going to school. On our first profit, we could have finish flipping the property in less than 6 weeks. Instead it took months because I was all over the place.
Here is the trick: Cancel out every activity that gets in your way! Cancel your cable. Delete your twitter and Facebook accounts. Tell your friends who are always wasting your time that you are too busy to hang out every other night. Throw out all the fiction books.
If you are serious about learning “How to” focus, the first step is removing all distractions that get in your way! I can’t stress enough the importance of focus and once you learn how to focus your efforts the sky is the limit! No one will be able to stop you.
Look back at all my businesses, the biggest consistent mistake I made was not focus on the task at hand. It was trying to do too much, when small little steps daily would have made the biggest difference!

Focussing and staying focussed is difficult to do in this age of limitless distractions. the 30-day mental cleanse was really good for me...and I want to stay with it.
