The Power of a Smile. Turn that frown upside down.

Smiling.  It's a simple thing, but powerful, wouldn't you say.  I'd say most of us don't smile enough.  I know I can smile more.

It's been said that people who smile more live longer.  Several scientific studies in recent years have proved this analysis to be so.

1. Do you ever smile at people?

2. Do you smile only when someone smiles back at you?

3. Do you smile only when things are going well?

If you answered "no" to #1, remember that smiling greatly influences your internal emotions, even if you have to try hard to come up with a reason to smile.

I've heard it takes 21 days to make a habit.  So practice smiling many times a day for the next 21 days.  In this world of many thing to do each day, this could be a challenge just to remember to do it.

If you answered "yes" to #2 and #3:  Don't wait for someone to smile at you first.  Smile at everyone, knowing that if people don't have a smile, you can give them one of your.

By nature, I am not a smiler.  But I want to change that.  There have been many times when friendly people have brightened my day by giving me a friendly smile.

Think of a time to two when someone's smile lifted you, encouraged you or helped you take your mind off of your troubles.  Then share that with us.  We could all use something to coax a smile out of us.  :)

Keep smiling,

Make Smiling a Habit

 Hi Lynn,

Thanks for the warm welcome to betternetworker and for this post.

No question that smiling and the emotions that go along with it create happiness - within yourself - and within others.

I frequently get complimented on my smile, which is very humbling to me. I smile because I am happy and I smile because I want to be happy, so it comes from a genuine place either way.

Smile at someone and watch the expression change on their face. What a gift!

Smiles!

Try the Buddhist meditation that calls for you putting a smile into each part of your body - your heart, your stomach, your liver...  Lifts you right up!

God gave me a gift one day...

...He put these words into my head and I share them everytime the subject comes up.  ...and sometimes when it doesn't.  lol

"Smiles are like Boomerangs - No matter how often you throw them out, they always seems to come back to you!"

A smile is a gift!  ...of which you hold an endless supply.  So give them out freely and abundantly!
